I, for one, am truly impressed by this forum as well. When many forums would quickly degrade into flamewars, with asbestos underwear the garb of the day, Spyderco goes on with only a word needed to keep things in line, that only seldom.

This forum displays a true maturity in manner that many forums can only stare at and envy. I have but seldom seen posts which correct other forumite's actions, and those are merely kind words to steer the forumite along the true way of honorable action.

I have never seen forums where members are so free with suggestions and so willing to help. Here, ask a question, get 10 replies in hours. On other sites, ask a question, get maybe one response in a week.

May this forum always stand as a monument to how the Internet can, and should, be to all.

I've learned most of my information from spyderco forums. Sal and Crew did such a good job on the Delica that I purchased 2 yrs ago, that it got me hooked. I had $100 to spend, and out of all the ones out there, I ended up with one of the oddest ones, but it fit well.

Between the further purchases and the forumites here at spydieland, I've changed allegiance to Spyderco, rather than buy anything I liked. Well done tools, reasonable prices for the quality.

We keep this forum going through kind words, and a sharing attitude. If we have a problem with something, we just don't comment rather than flame.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

This really is a great forun. I think one of the reasons it is great aside from the helpful spydie nuts is that Sal is directly involved with his customers.

I think a large part of the maturity to be found on this forum is that Spyderco's aren't flash knives, they're working knives. Plus the buggers are so sharp you have to be sensible around them <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

But lets face it, the fact that Papa Spyder is here and goes out of his way to include people in decisions and hand out good advice is a major plus.

Another big factor is Spyderco's customer service. There have been a couple really small things, so small that I wouldn't even mention it to another company, but because Papa Spyder seems so approachable I have mentioned it to customer services in passing and have had it sorted imediatly.

Just glad to be here.

This is truly one of the most mature and intelligent forums that I have had the pleasure of posting on. Where else can you get so many answers and opinions from so many different people,including the CEO of the company. I am also impressed with the personal attention given to posts about problems with the product, and the willingness to solve them. One forum that I have visited before had a topic titled &quot;what do you hate about your [brand ommited]&quot; The post had over 30 replies, and none of them were from anyone from that company. That kind of post here would surely get imidiate attention,and response.

Everyone here seems very friendly,mature,intelligent and even poetic.
(My wife was impressed with how poetic some of the replies were to the post that I announced the birth of our son in.)

This is a great bunch of people here,keep up the good work Sal and Co, this is a great place to discuss one of my favorite things.

I've been hanging around internet knife forums just about as long as they've been around. I moved from the usenet group rec.knives to Recdotknives, then to Knifeforums.com when it started and I was one of the earliest members of Bladeforums.com (not to mention the Benchmade forum <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>). The level of discussion on each of these has varied considerably depending upon the amount of moderation (none in the case of Recdotknives) and the personality of the moderator(s). On some forums the moderators have seemed to fan the flames rather than extinguish them. Even Bladeforums has not been without it's share of problems with the notable exception of their Spyderco forum. Over the years there have been a significant number of posts commenting on the quality and civility of the discussion there. What that forum and this forum have in common is your presence. I believe it is the example which you set in the way you deal with queries and problems which sets the tone here and has allowed this place to function virtually unmoderated.

My first knife when I discovered the internet was a Wegner Jr. Since then I have accumulated quite a number more and they have all been Spydies. This wasn't because other companies don't make good knives or because I couldn't find any others I liked. It was because of the human face of Spyderco. Your presence here, your willingness to interact with the customers, and the friendliness of people like Patti, Angela, Joyce and Olive. These are the things that I value and what keeps me buying Spyderco.

Thanks. Being a &quot;near-Spydie-virgin&quot;, I have not contributed much...YET. I purchased my 1st a couple weeks ago (FRN Delica 50/50) and only regret that I didn't pick one up years ago. Once again, thank you for being there. I need only read the comments of my bladed brothers (and sisters respectively) to know what kind of support exists here.

I enjoy having a place to go to learn about new knives. The group who are members of this forum are a great bunch of people. While I don't post as often as i should, I read most of what is put up on the forums. I've lost count of how many new bits of information I've obtained from this forum.

You should offer a degree in knife knowledge for all who use this forum.
