Greetings,

I had the pleasure of attending the August MBC Level 1 & 2 classes. I have to say they were wonderful. Mike & Matt did great job of presenting and teaching the classes. They were open to and answered questions, regardless of topic. I would encourage anyone who carries a knife for self defence to attended the MBC classes.

Mike had pictures of a proto-type of his design of the Yojimbo. All I can say is it's very cool and very usable. I'd have put money down for a "Live" blade & "Trainer" on the spot, if a could have.

Dear Mr. Skin:

Thanks for your kind words. The classes this past weekend went very well and I had a great time meeting and working with all the folks who attended. I really appreciate your dedication and interest in the program, and your willingness to travel so far to seek out knowledge. As I said in my introduction to the class, serious knife players are special people -- exactly the kind of people I like to be associated with.

Thanks again for your comments. I look forward to seeing you at future MBC events.

Stay safe,

I took the class last weekend also and I agree with Mr. Skin. The class was excellent. I have taken many different Philippineo martial arts as well as Chinese and Japanese martial arts in the past that included a lot of edged weapon training. This class really put it all together for me in a way I would never have thought of before and taught me a different way of looking at, and using a blade for self defense. Mike and Matt were excellent instructors. I am looking forward to the Level III and Level IV classes. I traveled from Georgia to take the class and it was well worth it. I would highly recommend this class to anyone. I also saw the prototype drawings of the Yojimbo. I would have picked up a pair of training blades as well as a pair of the live blades right there if it were available. I already told a couple of my friends about the class and the knife design I saw, they want to take the class also and want to get the knife when it comes out. Please, if anyone from Spyderco is reading this, can you fast track the knife out as soon as possible. Thanks again Mike, I rate you with some of the top instructors I have learned from and hope to see you soon for more training. Yeah, I know I sound like a gushing fan, but damn I was impressed.

Dear Satori:

Thank you VERY much for your comments and kind words. It's really gratifying to know that someone with your depth of knowledge of the arts got so much out of the class. I try to structure the curriculum to appeal to all skill levels and to complement, rather than replace, one's existing skills and abilities. Based on your feedback it seems I'm succeeding.

Again, thank you for your interest in MBC and your motivation to seek out quality training. It was great working with you this weekend and I look forward to seeing you again for Levels 3 and 4. Until then, keep your skills as sharp as your blades.

Best regards,

mike j
