Not sure if we've ever seen one of these around here, so I thought it might be fun to see which shapes everyone prefers. Apologies if I miss any(which I'm sure I will)
My favorite is the drop-point.

Since the poll allowed multiple choices, I cheated and picked three. :D That really is the most truthful answer for me. Love the wharncliffe, but do find it a bit less than ideal for some food prep tasks. For those it's a tossup for me between the drop point, leaf, and upswept.

I deliberately allowed multiple choices because most of us can't just pick one ;)
You're right Zen, I forgot to vote
I picked Hawkbill, because it's the move useful at work, Trailing Point because I love that blade shape on large knives, and Recurve because the Dodo demands respect.

My favorite is the drop-point/leaf like the blade on the Pro-Venator/Pro-Grip.

Leaf is the most used, followed very closely by warncliffe. For sheer aesthetics and versatility, points have to go to a dagger grind.

Here come my favourite blade shapes :D
I like the leaf shape because it looks pretty IMO

It will really be a surprise to let you all know that I voted for the Spearpoint. I guess it's because it was a Spearpoint blade that got me to become a knife fanatic. It wasn't even a Spyderco either. It was a Benchmade Boguszewski Spike models 640 & 650 that really made me a huge fan of these premium blades. The Spyderco blades that come really close to that one are the C-50 Centofante II and the C-56 Zowada models.
OK now don't get me wrong because the HAWKBILL is a very, very close second. So don't acuse me of jumping ship because I use 2 different sails. But the Spearpoint is what started it all for me.

I really like the Hawkbills but I voted for Drop Point & Sheepfoot as the are more versalite.
@spydutch: Serrated isn't a blade shape IMHO ;) :D

Voted for the warncliffe and drop point. They're doing all I ask in a blade. The others are useful too, but I use the 2 mentioned the most at the moment.

I voted for the Hawkbill, Wharncliffe, and the Leaf.
I like the utility of the Hawkbill. The Wharncliffe is starting to grow on me and I find myself wanting the C4. The Leaf shape blade is just too classy looking espicially when used with full, flat grind.

I prefer the leaf blade, and prefer them with just a hint of curve in the edge like in the Chinese folder.

Tanto & Upswept, for me. Looks like I'm in the minority by a pretty large sum. :o

It's a good thing Spyderco offers some of each, because we are totally across the board

Aloha Scott,
Recurve, Trailing, Wharnie, Drop, and Clip... ;) I was never really a fan of upswept types...that is until I got my Persian from Ed! ;)
God bless and take care knifebrother!

For me, it's the leaf shape. But the more use a little kitchen knife hawksbill I just got for christmas, the more I think I will get a tasman...

Well, it depends on the knife. I love many blade shapes, but I think I favor the clip point ones.

The Drop Point has always been my favorite, but since I've been using my Adventura...
Dare I say... Recurves Rule!

Okay, newbie question. :o What is the Delica/Endura/Millie blade style classified as? Modified clip point maybe?
Personally I like drop points, but for pure finction, it is handy having a flat straight (unsharpened) edge for scraping and such; ala the Endura/Delica/Millie.

Ok - I have read so much about the Dodo. I have avoided this one because of the blade to handle ratio, and not knowing about that ball lock. Educate me folks!
I already have three Spydies on order - - should I make it four?
