Anyone up for a challenge?

Hey out there, I am a former Spyderco knife owner whose knife has been lost and I am having some trouble identifying it so that I can replace it. I am hoping the forum readers can come to my rescue!! I looked through the catalog and the models that best fit my knife would be the Delica or the Police Model, but the Police Model seems to be a little big for what I'm looking to replace. My old knife was about 4 inches or so long when it was closed, so I imagine that the blade length was around 3 inches. It was fully serrated on the blade edge and had a round hole (at the base of the blade) to open it with your thumb. The belt clip was made from plastic and was a straight piece, not curved or anything. The handle was black and made from metal underneath, but covering the metal was a "rubbery" or latex material that was soft, colored black and made the knife easy to grip and handle. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it since I haven't been the same since I lost my beloved knife! Please help me identify this so I can get a new one and move on with my life!! Thanks!!!

You can never replace a loved one...I suggest you look into purchasing a different blade with perhaps a different personality. Let your old blade RIP.

Sounds like either a Pro-Grip or Endura.

Hopefully, there will be a pic of the Pro Grip attached. From your description, can't help but wonder if the ProVenator was ever made with black metal, instead of silver. Anybody know anything 'bout that?

Hi Brookecsf. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. It is possible that it might not be a Spyderco? I can't remember a model that we made with metal handles that were covered with a soft &quot;rubbery&quot; material.

Do you remember the price when you purchased it?

thank you all for responding to my search for my missing knife!Sal, in response, I was given the knife by a friend in the early nineties. I believe it was a spyderco because it had the serrated edge, round hole and I think I remember a spyderco logo somewhere on it or I had seen another knife that looked similar to mine about 5 or 6 years ago, had the &quot;soft&quot; rubber material and was definately a spyder,but it was too large for my hand to grip well. Was &quot;spyderco&quot; ever spelled with an &quot;i&quot; instead of a &quot;y&quot; like the insect? I'm thinking that maybe this knife was an older spyderco model or something or maybe even a good spyderco knock off, but it was so well made that I am definately looking for a professionally made blade. Spyderco did make knives that had a plastic belt/pocket clip though, didn't they? If you know whether there are any other places out there that make knives similar to spyderco, could you let me know? I really appreciate everything and everyone responding to my request!thanks for your suggestions and help all!!
