I'm no MBCer, but what do you guys think about this training tool?

I remember seeing that a while back. Not sure how "realistic" it is, but it's definitely expensive enough to make everyone think it is ;)
I can't imagine a shock feeling anything like being cut. I'm a bit skeptical of this, especially because I've never heard anything positive about it.

Forget about the shocknife, I'll take my Jedi issue Burgundy Lightsaber any day! :p

Looks like they have raised knife training to a level closer to what they do with simunitions/guns.
Assuming it works well, I think it would be great. Give some true feedback.

Aloha ALL,
Verrrrry interesting...However, my training occurs daily in Hell...I dunno how much more "real" it can get. One thing though...can a shock from the shocknife be localized like a papercut?
However, whatever makes training more fun is always good...but if my partner ever placed on the full power mode of 7,500volts on me during training, I think it'd get VERY reality based after that!
I do like the part of the CO's and how we gotta police within the walls weaponless...damn we're screwed. :o
God bless and mahalo for sharing Carlos.

I prefer the tried and true chalk-line edge... Too many gimicks these days.... "just one more thing to break!"

Wooooo! The Caly Jr. strikes back! I think it's a novel design, but as previously mentioned, the electical shock might not be an adequate replacement for an actual knife wound. On the other hand, very few things do adequately replace an actual knife wound.

I think any pain would give the needed caution to make it realistic.

I think the $$$ would be better-spent on a couple of training knives, some chalk and protective gear for full-contact sparring.

sharpie markers and full speed full contact
You soon realize how bad you'd end up when you finish a 5min sparring match and look at how many lines you have on you.
Last time I did that on a slow day at work, I ended up with 2 nice long lines down my left forearm and a few light ones on my right shoulder, and then a few dots from light contact.... of course the other guy ended with a good number of lines all over his body, and an actual cut down his chest from collarbone to navel from the tip of the marker(and a nice rip in his shirt). You can do the math to figure out who's walking home from the hospital and who's getting wheeled out, simply based on location and number of hits. ONLY rule is no face or head shots.
Afterwards, simple orange will clean it off(if it's fresh, otherwise you'll need comet or ajax)
