How do you create the satin finish on your blades.

Thanx

Caleb,

I put a satin finish on an old Worker using wet and dry abrasive paper. I started with about 240 to get out the scratches and then worked up to 600. Actually I probably could have stopped at 400, just depends on the finish you're after. Just make sure that the final strokes are all in the same direction and use a wood block on flat surfaces. When I was enquiring about this, Sal advised the use of 3M pads but I haven't tried them.

Hi sal i Would know the differents grits do you use.thanx.
Hi clay i've tried sand paper too but i've never obtain a really beautiful finish and some abrasive LOCKED my knives. The only manner to remove it:some hard shocks on wood(with some centimeters of cotton between)Howdy it works well.I've tried the compressor but some little particles was again in pivot point.

Caleb,

I used the wet and dry with water and tried to hold it so that the sludge ran away from the mechanism. However some particles did get into the mechanism but I was able to remove them with a good wash in warm water and a rinse under a runnung tap.
