Here's the latest piece I drew for a guy who's getting it tattooed on his arm. The scan didn't come out as clearly as I'd have liked; the original is crystal-clear.

Wow, that's a real nice drawing.

This isn't coming from an artist, but the shading is very impressive to me. Especially on the paracord wrap.

VW most good tattoo artist can and will draw you a custom piece. Find you a good artist you want to do your work and talk with him about the design.

Nothing against JimD his art is amazing. It is just tattoo artist prefer to do their own drawings.

Nice work on the calligraphy  And REALLY nice work on the knife!!!

I know the characters are very likely kanji, and translation will be different than for Chinese characters, but the first three characters seem to be: It-water-fire

Can't recall the last two characters, nor can I find them in reference. Hence, they must be distinctly Japanese. Either that or I'm too lazy to look any harder for them :o

Could you help out with a translation when you get a chance?

Looks great Jim, I love the Kanji.

What does it read? :o

Thanks for the kudos, guys.
To be honest, I really don't know what the Kanji reads; I'll have to ask the buyer.

Incidentally, he's a soldier serving in Iraq. Yesterday was a bad day for him and his teammates; one of their buddies was killed, hit in the head by a ball bearing from an IED. Very good dude, I feel bad for them.

Personally, I like your pics of nature more than your renderings or even the surreal images of buildings.

That's beautiful!

Maybe you shouldn't draw as beautiful as you do. The other Jim Davis' artwork is maggotty crap in comparison to the stills you've shown us here and he's living the good life.

I never looked at it quite in that way, sir! I certainly appreciate your viewpoint, and have to agree about "living the good life"; I oughta be!

Unfortunately, art sales are not booming these days. I'm working on a couple of projects that are definitely helping me out, but I'm nowhere near the guy who draws Garfield as far as income.
