Assist advice

Im about to order an assist but am i right in saying there are 2 models the '1'and '11' what is the difference please . Im after the one with the squared off blunt tip , whistle and cardide tip , is it true this carbide tip is replaceable and is a spare one included ? Sorry for all the questions .

The Assist you are after is the I. There used to be a II which had a more rounded tip. The carbid tip is replaceable but AFAIK ther is no spare one included.
Fastest way to get a lot of information is to download the catalogues on Ted's website at http://www.ted.tweakdsl.nl/spyderco/catalogs.html both the 2004 & 2005 show pictures of the Assist I & II.

I thought that replacing the carbide tip meant, sending the knife to the factory, where they do it for you.
Not very useful for people who don't live in the USA, what with customs and all. :(
