I Have Been Wondering?????

What makes this forum so great? There are lots of other good forums on the internet, but this is a great forum!!

Is it the people? We all know that there are great people here. from the President of Spyderco to the 1st time poster all that come here just seem like a different bunch than frequently are at the other forums. As many have stated in the past, this forum has a real family feel to it!

Is it the knives themselves that bring us all together?

Is it the fact that there are only 2 forums (topic forums) here, so we are not all spread out and don't really see what others are posting more often?

I don't know for sure. What are some of your thoughts. I am just curious, because, this forum for me, is like no other.

You make a good point Ron. I think it is the quality of people that we have here, and the respect that we all have for each other, AND the respect we have for the wonderful folks that run the forums! This has a real family feel to it, unlike ANY of the other forums that I belong to. I also think that since there is nothing for sale here, there is none of that bad talking one another either. All of this makes Spyderco Forums feel like a FAMILY. You all are my brothers and sisters!! It is a very beautiful thing that we have here.

you bring up a good point about the number of forum topics. when there are many topics it can be confusing and more people will post in the wrong place and frustrate others

I would say yes. On the other forums I frequent, I tend to hang out in certain forums, and the feel is much the same family kind of thing(though still not quite as close to "home" as this one)

Here we actually know a lot of each others names. We know the specific types of knives we all like. We know when certain topics come up, exactly who is going to respond to them :p We see threads by fellow members and we can usually tell exactly what they're going to see before we open the thread.

Having only these two forums let's us all get to each other well enough to know all that stuff I just mentioned. I wouldn't have it any other way. :cool:

I joined this forum only couple month ago and I like it a lot.
I think that people make this forum so great. People are very nice.
Beside Spyderco’s Forum, I joined only two more. BF I joined first, now it is only for information. I hate when they name people with names. BM forum became almost obsolete after I bought my Adventura (I even wanted to sell Ares in order to buy second Adventura).
I feel here like among old friends. Thank you.

I think it's just the relaxed and warm atmosphere of these 2 forums :)

I visit and post on other forums as well but here I'm feeling at home ;)
