I have seen the light of 30 deg angle

Yip was about to give 2 of my blades a few swipes (Gunting & Matriarch) and thought, well lets see what the 30 deg angle turns out like on my Matriarch, sheesh, only word to describe it is nasty, the 40 deg just cant compare, normally i always use the 40 but thought since this isnt for util cutting 30 would probably be the one to keep it on, on 40 when gently rubbing the teeth on your thumb it "catches" wanting to bite in your skin, you can feel it "catch" and try to tug through, on 30 its so sharp it dont even "catch" goes straight through, the plainedge section at the end is even worse.



For those who have the Civ & Mat who use a 40 angle, try the 30, youll be mos suprosed.

30 deg. would be great on the Civilian or Mariarch, but on a knife that does chores it would not be a good idea. Little things like nails, or staples will destroy a 30 deg. sharpened blade. Knowing this I now sharpen all of my knives to 30 deg. I am just very carefull!!!
