Hi guys

As you lot seem to be in the know, has the new spyderench been released??

i have found one for sale on a British website from a retuble company. i have emailed them and they say they have just got them in. the steel is Aus-8 and the edge is a 50/50 plain/spyder edge.

have they been released?? will there be a plain egde version??

thanks

Edd.. :spyder:

Well the originals, or at least the one I have, are 440C, so it may very well be the Gen II version. Although, no offense meant, it seems odd they would show up in the UK before they show up here. I will be really curious to see if Sal or Kristi chimes in on this one, and what the story is.

i would say its BS then. i know the only spydie ever made in taiwan is the salsa. any pictures or a link to the guy selling them?

i also think being made in Taiwan sounds suspect. other than the Salsa as far as i know all Spydies are made in the US or Japan with the exception of Byrds which are made in China.

That sounds VERY suspect to me.

We have not re-released the Spyderench yet. We do anticipate doing so later this year, but nothing is final yet.

Edd-UK, please PM or email me (khunter@spyderco.com) a link to the site so we can take a look and investigate further.

I've been away a good bit lately so I may be behind, but I'm glad to hear TazK say that the spyderwrench will be released latter this year.

I will be eagerly awaiting the release. I missed the Gen1 wrench, but want to see what a spyderwrench is all about.

Our mistake, what is listed is in fact an authentic new Spyderench. We had a small quantity come in and they were mistakenly shipped out to an international customer.

Sorry for the confusion, but I'm glad we've figured it out.

Just to be clear, these are authentic and this is a reputible dealer. The mistake was ours, at Spyderco, not the distributor or the dealer. I guess this could be seen as an unintentional early availability  . If you want to purchase one, do. :D

 Run that by me again I'm being slow tonight... They are the actual next-gen new never-before-seen spyderenches? And they are made in Taiwan and have AUS-8 blades?

no problem Bodie...seems lots were curious :)

Hey Dedguy, a lot of folks have used Heinnie in the past with no problems...usually to get the UK Penknife before it was avail here.

Sorry for asking something that's already been answered. Normally I'm better about readying a whole thread.
EDIT - I don't see an answer in this thread about the edge. Could it have been in another thread where that was answered?

Not that I keep a close eye on it, but there are four spyderwrenchs up for sale right now on ebay! "old style" of course...that is pretty rare to see so many up for sale at the same time.
