... Some info on the Spyderco Worker? I'm about to buy this cool knife, and would like to know more about it. So far I know that it was the first Spyderco Clip-It.
Does anyone here have any experience with the Worker? Is it a good everyday carry knife?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Was my first Spydie back in 1984. I carried it a lot and used it a lot, until I broke that needle point prying with it. (stupid)
I've got a couple now and still appreciate its history and design.
This picture was of one for sale on ebay way back. (wish I would have bid a bit higher)

Chinook> now THAT is a sweet knife... wonder what made them go for a zebra stripe?
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Well, I just got back from my local Spyderco dealer and I am now the proud owner of one of the most innovative knives in the world. Also known as the Spyderco C01S Worker. I own 14 other Spyderco knives(just hit 15 today!),but I must say that this knife really surprised me. Now I'm not new to Spydercos by any means, but I felt like this was my first Spyderco all over again.I can only imagine what it must of felt like to knife-people in 1981 seeing something totally new and revolutionary behind the glass of the knife cabinet at their local knife store.
The actual knife itself is amazing. The lockup is excellent, the blade design is wonderful, and the edge is scary sharp.I also love the sharpened false edge.
It is beyond me why Spyderco discontinued this great knife.

Congrats BladeMaster...
Yes it was a surprise when I saw a Worker the first time. It wasn't at a knife store butt at the L.A. County Fair. I drooled and fondled and lusted and finally walked away not being able to justify the purchase at the time.
My lady snuck back the next day and bought one. She became my wife.

Great knife. I have a Co-pilot with a similar zebra handle...also labeled serene and a Sereme Cricket that sounds like br44. Does anyone know more about the serene artist that is customizing these handles?

Hey, Chinook, that's a great woman you've got there.
Spdercos are great, Women are a blessing, but a woman who will buy Spydercos for you...Now your in heaven!
BTW, you said that you broke the tip off of your first Worker ,so do your other Workers see any use anymore? Just curious.
