Hello!
I learned some news about new Military-Auto Knife. Unfortunately there aren't any informations about Lock system so maybe you know what kind of Lock system had it got? Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard anything about a Military auto. I've suggested it, but haven't heard anything.

AFAIK is the automatic still a prototype. Can't remember the lock.

Now THAT is definitely something I haven't heard about at all, nor do I care to.
A 4" Auto would be so illegal for me I'd get arrested for looking at one :p

So now they're making the Millie an auto? Never mind, I'll get myself one anyway, as long as it's a DA OTF, features ZDP (or at least S30V) blade, unlinered CF handles and it has the same size and weight as the original.

Yeah, that's an understatement. If I was in a 500 mile vicinity of it, I'd be locked up. :o

I am afraid playing with one is very bad for your memory as it is about the only thing I can really remember about the automatic. Double action too. Not a Military in the strict sense although about the same size. Illegal here as well of course as is anything thats ends with fly untill the small one is released.

I hope its just an all together new model.

The details on such a knife have been kept from us, so at the risk of sounding like a broken record; I don't know. What I can do, however, is journey into that foggy realm so often occupied by forum conversations: Speculation! An auto version of the current Milli would probably use the linerlock. If they (Sal & Crew) are making an an auto version of the re-designed Milli, then there is a good chance it will have a compression lock like it's little brother. If, as Vincent hopes, it is a completely new design (cool) then it is impossable to predict what Spyderco will do. They are like that.

I would speculate it would have a button lock.

There was a reference about an auto in development in a thread a few months ago. IIRC ,it was in a thread titled Amsterdam Show, or similar. If one is produced, I speculate it will be many months before it reaches production. Spyderco autos are needed to bring up the quality of US autos in general. Spyderco will teach MT, Protech, & Dalton what solid blade lock up is. :D Can't wait! Welcome to the Forum! :p

Am in the same boat as Scott here.
There has been talk for some time about a Spyderco auto. IIRC, the concept model was done by Butch Valloten. I'm not sure whether it is totally his design, or if he just did the mechanism.
The holdup again if memory serves me correct, is that the laws of Colorado are either hostile to, or at the very least unclear regarding the legality of, manufacturing and or distributing automatics.
If it does come to pass, I'll have to get Mike to put #43 in the safe with the "good" drugs, and hold it for me till I retire and move to a less liberal infested state.
