View Full Version : Waved Delica & Endura!
I received my Waved Delica & Waved Endura in the mail last night. Well, I take that back, the Delica is my wife's new EDC. :D
But anyway, I took them into work today and you talk about POPULAR! My co-workers couldn't get enough of them after my first deployment. Blade snapped open, eyes got wide, smiles got wider. Now everyone wants one. The cool factor alone blew them away. I don't think the pure function of the knives even sunk in. I'm sure I sold a few today.
Two thumbs up on a great design executed flawlessly. The Waved Endura has bumped some really nice knives out of my right front pocket. Looks like I have a new EDC. For a while...

I hear ya, V-1!
My EDC in my right front pocket was a black PE Dodo, but I'm really liking the Wave, (Delica, it's more sheeple friendly) and couldn't really justify roughly $169 for an Emerson.
Have fun with your new toy and thanks Spyderco!
I would like to see the Wave on a lot more items! :)

I used my waved Endura to open some bottles today. You just have to be careful when you pull it out. The sheeple around me just thought I had my own bottle opener and never relized it was a knife.

I'm thinking about getting a waved endura, but in the pics i've seen of them they sure are ugly. But I too would like to see the wave on more models. Especially the chinook and the military.

It's somehow strange, but pics do little justice to the knives (especially Spydies). I've seen a lot of them were looking at least plain (not to say ugly) in the pics, and only when I laid my hands on them I realized how beautiful they actually are :o

I agree, Dialex. I really didn't like the Polliwog until I played with it and truly enjoyed the finger choils and the ergonomics.
My favorite spydie handle/grip to date is the Dodo...very comfortable! :p

I would love to see a waved Military or Para-Military. I thought about that, however I wonder how Emerson Knives would feel about it? A G-10 handled, waved knife might be a bit too much competition for their line!?!?
That being said, if you don't have a waved Endura or Delica... GET ONE NOW!!! This knife flat out blew me away... It is not as ugly as it looks in pictures, and actually I think it has a certain appeal to it. It is gray, however it is a dark gray (not like the other gray FRN's we have seen). If you told me it was black, I would have not questioned you. If the light is right, it does look a dark gray.
The wave works great on this knife, frankly even better than the one on my Emerson Mini-Commander!
Really this is a must have knife. :)

I enjoy my Wave and especially the whole upgrade of the Endura . I like the new Endura so much another blade style is a must .
I love the Delica, but I am not a big fan of the wave.
1. I do not carry my folder in my pocket
2. I do not really care about quick deployment
If Spyderco made a switch blade that deploys faster
& easier would you get it? I wouldn't, it's not the reason why
I like the Delica.
Am I making sense? :D

If I could carry it legally; sure, why not? :D
What can I say, the Wave is just plain old FUN!

Yeah, pics don't really do most knives justice. I'm interested in a waved endura, I just want to handle one first. I usually buy my knives off the internet, most of the knife shops around here are way overpriced. I would like to see more models with the wave,(chinookII maybe?). :spyder:

I hear you man, it is fun isn't it? :D
dete,
I think I know what you were saying though. The upgrade to the Delica with the 4th edition is incredible with or without the wave. I bought one of the original Delicas with the molded zytel clip many YEARS ago. The new version really shows the evolution of Spyderco. AWESOME knife for the money. It has to be the best knife you can buy for the money on the market right now.

My fault goofed around thinking about the Delica ZDP and blew it , no go at SFO today ! May be later , checked around and went down in flames ! Must be patient or be one !
I think the wave makes a heck of a rubber band gun :D

So besides opening the knife the wave serves 2 other purposes - opening beer bottles and shoooting rubber bands. Someone else mentioned it was similiar to a sword catcher/breaker? What other uses can we come up with - both serious and unserious things? Could a paint can lid be opened with the wave?

I walked into the stocking dealer intent on checking out some of the other higher-end Spydies I hadn't fondled yet. I asked to see that Delica right away.
To me, the 'gray' is certainly gray, and not black, though admittedly a bit darker than on the Caly Jr.
But, enough of that.
I was wearing cargo shorts with slash-cut front pockets. The first few times, I just didn't get the feature at all. Then, on the 5th or 6th try, it just happened. Once I got the knack, no problem at all. Needless to say, I paid too much money for it right there just to have it.
Is the Endura any more, or less, efficient with this feature on its longer blade?
And, they are not as ugly in-person, LOL.:D

Doing great! Don't be a stranger on that forum, BTW. :)
The Waved Endura is at the top of my list. I just showed-off the Delica to a knife-guy at work, and he thinks it's pretty slick. :D
Since I have been letting people check out my two blades; 3 waved Delica's and 2 waved Endura's have sold. That's five that are confirmed on order and in the mail. I know that there will be more to follow. Nobody had ever seen or heard of them before. They were just blown away.
They really are an awesome piece of engineering and manufacturing.
Mine have really put a dent in my knife buying. Heck, I've even stopped browsing the forums, online stores and eBay. For now... :D

I've seen a customized Millie with a wave. It was very cool looking.
