Right now I'm taking a break...

we just got 48 cobs of corn to can, and about 30 are done so far...

just have to take bad spots out, then take it off the cob...

I grabbed the 3" paring knife, more control, and what do you think my mother grabbed? the 5" fillet knife!

I'M the knife knut of the house, and she grabs the 5" knife and cut's towards herself. I sharpened the knives in our house last(about 3 months ago), so I know how sharp they are. If she hits her thumb, it gonna be deep.

Anyone else have to deal with things like this?

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Hi.
My mother doesn't have any spydie yet but today i've ordered the paring knife and the santoku. When i sharpen kitchen knives(&quot;Bargoin l'enclume&quot;and &quot;sabatier&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> i say to my mother:take caution they are SHARP but she cuts her fingers.Same thing has happened to my father with a bread knife which was REALLY DULL(15 years TOTALLY without any sharpening),now it is really sharp.

THANXXX to SPYDERCO and his 204!

HERESY'S not a crime. In the knives we trust, not in gods

the last time my mother cut herself, it was with the bread knife, cutting a bagel... about a 1/4-1/2&quot; cut, down to her nail(from the side). That was before I sharpened any... I haven't sharpened the serrated knives, only the plain edge.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Warn them once and stay clear. A good cut on the finger tends to stick in my mind as a learning experience.

My mother has been cutting towards herself as long as I can remember. My Dad keeps all knives in the house very sharp, probably oversharpens them. Nary a cut yet that I've ever heard of. She has though, sewn through her thumb on her sewing machine, and back in the &quot;old days&quot; managed to pass her hand thru the wringer on the wringer-type washing machine.
