Just a quick heads-up... these should be ready to start shipping in approximately 2 weeks (I know I used two vague words in terms of time, but you know me!). We're working on announcing these to all of our Dealers and Distributors, so be patient if your source hasn't heard of them yet.
This is a limited run of 1500 pieces, with an MSRP of $279.95. The Carbon Fiber is peel-ply.
I think most all of you will really like this one! I know I do!

Very cool. Probably not in my price range but it's good to know what's going on anyway. :-)
Thank you Taz! That's great news!
Thank you Kristi.
And please express my appreciation to Mr. Glesser. Spending my "extra" money on new Spyderco knives keeps me out of all sort of trouble.

Thanks for the heads up Kristi! Any hint as to whether the numbered ones will be among the first shipped or not? Also any idea what the story is on the Gold Pearl Kopas? Only a very small number of them seem to have made it into dealers hands, and that was what feels like ages ago to at least some of us who were not among the lucky few.
Has it been two weeks yet? Huh, are we there yet?

Kristi,
What is the BG-42 steel like. Does it have a simular grain structure as the CPM-S30V? or is it closer to the VG-10, or is a differet animal all together?
Have there been any other knives in the past with this steel?
Oh, and thanks for the Heads-Up.
respectfully,
Jose Diaz

BG-42 is somewhat similar to ATS-34, with some major differences: It has more manganese and molybdenum than ATS-34, and has 1.2% vanadium (ATS-34 has no vanadium), so look for better edge-holding than ATS-34. BG-42 is usually hardened to 61-63 Rc.

BG 42 is the same steel used for bearings in jet engines.

BG 42 is the same steel used for bearings in jet engines.Hmm, that would seem to indicate extreme wear resistance. If so, it should hold an edge extremely well, but be a total b!#@h to sharpen.

Wow, I really would like one, but 4 mouths and a new car will get me to stick with only a small, vulgar blue ZDP delica...

1500 pieces and high dollar asking price results in a probable decent amount of time to obtain one of these tasty morsels for anyone who wants one but isn't flush enough to get one right away. Heck you can still get the "regular" peel ply sprint military from dealers and it was in a much less manufactured qty. So loose not hope my fellow rabid knife knuts. ;)

154CM sucks? Whose?
Nice to know I should have some time - I want one of these.
Hope the HRc will be in the 62 range.
That and a brown ceramic sharpening should prove darn EDC friendly, I'm thinking.

All in good time Alex.
As for the BG-42, I will say this, Sal has been carrying his prototype as his EDC for a while now, he hasn't sharpened it, it's still shaving sharp.
I think everyone will be pleased.

Thanks for the info Kristi
Quite a pricy knife  . A good thing it doesn't come fully serrated so I don't have to buy it :D
Or does it come serrated?

What finish will the blade have Kristi?
We've heard that BG-42 will take a superb polished finish with the same spooky sharpness and somewhat better edge retention than the S30V. This would be icing on the cake ... I'll take 2 if they are ...
Now, what to do with the 2 other CF Mili's I have ... :D
I think most all of you will really like this one! I know I do!
I just got mine! I love it. That is all for now. Pictures to follow. :D
