I got some gorilla glue on the blade of one of my knives right out of serrated edge. Because of the small amount it can even bubble out like a normally does its just a couple spots of really read hard resin it isn't going anywhere. Any suggestions on the safest way to get the stuff off. It won't scrape off with moderate use like I thought it might. And for obvious reasons and hesitant to try to scrape it off for something hard and that would even work. I'm going to have to go out and buy some kind of solvent but what would be the best thing to use. I just found some turpentine and will probably use that to soak in overnight in a little while that's not a bad idea it is a scorpis so the handles won't be a problem wondering if the teams might soften up the washers.............................later after an hour of soaking in acetone is having zero affect on this stuff I might really need help here
o boy...this is tough glue...are you ready to hear the verdict?

I have heard that the solvent ACETONE will disolve most glues. There is also another solvent known as MEK which I heard is very hot and will dissolve quite a few materials. I have heard good things about Gorrilla GLUE so you may have a real problem here.
I have also heard you can weaken it with a propane torch like plumbers use.

I soak it in acetone for about seven hours with no discernible result. I might try putting it in the freezer overnight and then........ something. I think living with it because it doesn't impair function and I don't mind holding on to this knife at all. Might be my only course of action. As for the blowtorch the glue is right on the edge and I'm really hasn't to use the blowtorch even if I had one. Thank you very much for all your responses. I do work at Lowe's so so sooner or later I'll end up talking to somebody who knows how to get this stuff off and I will look for that new solvent that was mentioned.

tell yah... buy an ultrasonic cleaner... can get one that will hold the knife for about $80 up here(an industrial spec that sterilizes as well can go for $2K+). about 5min will clean it right up.
If you ask nicely, the dentist office might even do it for you without having to buy your own machine. ;)

Goo-gone, ie mineral oil based solvent? At work we use several adhesives. Most soften with alchohol, a few require acetone, and one will only disolve with Goo-gone.
I like the ultra sonic cleaner idea. I've always wanted one. Squeaky (squeeky?) clean!

Try a razor blade.Carfully try to get the edge between the glue and the steel.
That is a difficult question. Gorilla glue is Polyurethan, which is unfortunately not listed in the chemical resistance data base of Cole-Parmer, my usual go to page.
But I would imagine that Acetone and aromatic hydrocarbons (paint thinner) should attack it.
But just as JSmith said. My best guess would be first, rubbing the spot hard with some solvent soaked rag or papertowel and then a razor blade. I work a lot with Great Stuff, which is foamier than Gorilla Glue but otherwise pretty similar and that is what I usually do. But I know from experience, if that stuff is fully cured, its really difficult to get rid of. Carfully raising the temperature with a heat gun or hairdrier may help aswell.

Somewhere, hidden deep in the jungle in Laos ...
... is a super-secret knacker's yard co-founded by Che Guevara and Mao Tse-Tung ...
... this is the source of the mysterious and powerful
'Guerrilla Glue'
Just kidding! Having a little good-natured fun ...
Hope you get the simian stuff off your blade!

You gotta buff that sh!& off, sand it off, or razor it off and razors dont do well :(
The only thing worse to remove than Gorilla Glue is JB Weld...however that cant really be removed at all.
You can try paint thinner but it wont go far, you can try 3M adhesive and wax remover, you can try metal polish and all will fail. Goo Gone will not work with this glue as Gorilla Glue is not solvent based.
You can try denatured alcohol...but that only works in the earlier drying stages.
In other terms, you are not going to get this stuff off of the knife without damaging the knife itself. :(
