Seki City, Japan

As a very happy Spyderco user I have always had one question that remained unanswered, "Can I tour the factory in Seki City, Japan?" Well, I am in Japan right now and will be spending time in Seki so if anyone has any experience or would like to offer their words of wisdom, I would appreciate it greatly.

Hi Norotonfd. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

There are many factories in Seki City that make many diffeent kinds of knives. Getting tours is difficult unless you know someone involved with the particular factory.

There is a very nice museum in Seki that was built by G.Sakai. There is a nice display on Seki knife history near the sword demo area (I think they have a demo the first Friday of each month during the summer.

Those two would be a nice addition to your trip.
