This year as always I made a bee line for the Spyderco booth at the blade show here in Atlanta. As usual they had plenty of goodies, but like last year the best thing I did there was to donate enough money to send a knife through Spyderco to the troops. I would challange all you spydey heads out there to get in touch with Kelly at Syderco and she can handle getting your knife to a trooper. Maybe she will be kind enough to post a number you can contact. I will call her later today and see if it is alright to post her work number or if she can furnish some contact info for you. It isn't much money and you will be suprised at how good you feel.

Kelly and I are actually out of town right now. If anyone would like to participate, I'll post more information later about how you can.

rufusrugg,
Thank you for your contribution and for your support. As you know, it's a great cause that is very near and dear to us here.

I didn't even know this was something that could be done.

That's a cool idea.

When I was at the spyderco booth two years ago I found out that spyderco had a program to send knives to the troops, it took me a while to make them understand what I wanted to do (they thought I wanted one for myself) but once they understood they were more than happy to do it. If you call them in their Colorado office and ask for Kelly in Marketing she will help. I am going to try and call her today and see if it is alright to publish her number. The cost is not much at all and as a veteran it makes me proud to help those that have come after me.

Please do not contact Kelly. I will put up information soon as to how you can participate for those of you who want to. It's never been a formal program, probably simply because we're not trying to draw attention to what we do. We just do it.

I promise, I will post information soon.

Thanks!

Thanks Kristi, I'm really interested. I was cooking a similar idea in my head for quite some time and I'm glad to see someone already took care of this.

It's nice this day and age to see a statement like this. Makes me think well of Spyderco.

Nothing yet, but we're working on it. There are a lot of logistics that have to be worked out. I know it seems simple and from your end it will be, but for us as a business we have to be certain we follow the rules. I promise, I'll make an announcement as soon as we've got it all worked out.
