Hi All,
Just picked up a ronin and I really like it. I do have a question about the blade. The tip (about the last 1/2 inch) seems to not be perfectly straight. I placed the blade on a flat surface and I can see light b/n the blade and the surface at 2 different points. The tip shows a very slight curve (like the hawkbill). This is a NIB knife.
Just wondering if that is just the nature of each individual knife?????
Thanks -Coop

Thanks -CoopMine does the same thing. When I mentioned it on the forum about a week and a half ago, someone posted a pic of someone else's Ronin with the exact same condition. Almost looks like a slight hawkish appearance in extreme miniature scale.
I’ll try to find the thread and repost.

Perhaps it needs more fiber in it's diet.
^ :D
Mine had the same only in the other direction. It looked straight, but sighting down the edge showed a slightly wavy edge and the tip pulling up just a tad. You have to realize, these are hand ground: You try and keep a perfectly straight line on a belt grinder.
If you want to get anal, you can fix it on a properly trued benchstone, that is the advantage of a Warnie.

It is not unusual for a straight edge to develop such a concavity. I don't say it's in order, although the knife works fine, but it's pretty common.

I finally checked four of my Ronins:
2 :had the slight hawkbill...I couldn't see it unless I held the blade up to a straight edge.
1 :had a slight "belly" "
1 :looked perfectly straight.
All would slice and dice very well. ;)

Mine had that too but it got ground out when I sharpened it. I also have the last half an inch bent to the side. But I think that was from slashing boxes it realy annoyed me at the time so I just don't look at it closely anymore.
