"Over and out" is actually considered to be an offensive statement.
In radio parlance, "Over," means, "I'm finished with my statement; now I recognize your turn to say something."
"Out," means, "I am finished with the conversation and am hanging up the radio."
To say, "Over and out," is like saying, "It's your turn to talk, but I'm gone and won't be listening." :p
Blame Hollywood. They depict things that are showy but by no means necessarily accurate.

Over and out is what my son and I say when we stop our telephone conversation.
Have a nice day and weekend you all ;)

I guess that technically, only one person in a two-way conversation should ever say, "Out."
If the second person says it, chances are they may be saying it to someone who is already gone.
Radio communication is one of the fun things about flying small airplanes, especially since I'm non-military but have long been fascinated by military protocol. It makes you feel so "official" when you talk with an air traffic controller, or even other pilots in an uncontrolled environment. It's really cool!
I remember it was one of the things I used to get freaked out by, when my dad would take me flying in the '80s. He groomed me for it, though. He would tell me what I should say, and have me recite it, and then I'd use the push-to-talk and make the radio calls per his instructions. Eventually I got over the apprehension about it, and now I enjoy it.
My guilty pleasure is, I love to say, "Roger."

Well, I am on vacation right now and decided to have a glimpse to my other world.
Just did and was happy to see all is the same,
Take care you all and see ya in a couple of days...
Oh, Saturday, I will have the chance to be all alone for 24 hours. No kids, no g-friend, nothing to do.
What would you suggest, I have a car and I live in a city....
Waiting ;)

I just made an appointment with my massotherapist (I have insurance :D ) for a 1.5 hour massage. The day will start with a breakfast at a very nice restaurant, followed by walk on the mountain. Then the massage ( :D :D :D :D .... :D :D :D ) will be followed by 1 or 2 beers at a terrace while watching people go by and a book by J. Grisham ("Le couloir de la mort") which is the one about the lawyer who choose to defend his grandfather from death penalty because he bombed a Jewish law office 30 years ago.... I started it and looks fine for summer..... The day will end with a feast at at one of the finest japanese restaurant in Montreal for Sushi and teriyaki.
And Logging off at 00:12...

Instead of a new post I am recycling an old thread of mind...
I am going away for a week in a cottage by a lake I rent for a ridiculous amount of money (= 40$ a day, once again starting tomorrow.) It has been that way for the past 6 years, and I hope it will go one for, at least the next 20...
I just love that place. I'll post pictures when I get Back.
I go with a Mili, A Caly Jr and a ZDP C-11... maybe a biscuit
I will be there alone with my two children until Monday and Step' will be joining us Monday.
It is now 00:27 and I will go to bed just after I ask anyone that if I win at the "It's contest time again" thread, well, please wait for my return... I just lost a great opportunity ......
As fir the cottage, I just want to relax, be in the wood with my family, no tv, cell, web or any technology from the past 20 years or so, dip in a lake and drink beer...... I think you can relate...
Love you all...
Simon
