Dear Friends,
Recently I assisted our own dear TazKristi with a special project for Spyderco. Quite remarkably, what follows is what I received shortly thereafter as a token of appreciation for my assistance.

Specially engraved for yours truly, no less. I am quite overwhelmed!
The Ed Schempp Kris is a remarkable knife to begin with - the added engraving simply makes it even more special. My sincerest thanks to Taz and the whole Spyderco crew for this wonderful surprise!

My sincerest apologies, my friend, but I am sworn to secrecy. Just one of the numerous services I offer to clients...
We well know the all-knowing super-powers of our beloved Forum Goddess Taz; do you think I would knowingly incur her wrath by divulging privileged information? :D

That's just how high quality people they are at the Great Spyder Company. I've yet to get me a KRIS. It's on my list and I agree that Ed Schempp is a class act all the way. But then again I never knew Spyderco to have collaborations with anyone who wasn't. It just shows me that we are dealing with the right knife company. :spyder:

Sweet knife, Dr. Lecter! What a great gift, TK!
Dr. Lecter,
When you practice martial bladecraft with your ethnographically-inspired Schempp marvel, do you find yourself uttering "Excuse me, while I kris the sky?"
:p
Gotta carry a hawkbill or s-curve tomorrow in your honor, Doctor!

That's a sweet knife Hannibal! I used to dislike the design but it's been growing on me for many months now.
Very nice gesture on your part and also on the part of Kristi and Spyderco.
You're a deserving person bro.
;) Enjoy that bad boy!
All my best,
David

Besides, there is the issue of doctor-patient confidentiality to consider... ;)

I won't ask what kind of project that you were working on for them, as I am sure that whatever it was, will make our little community that much better. :D
Thank you Dr. Lecter for your contribution and thank you Taz for reminding me why I have no problem spending my hard earned cash on your fine products! :p

I am blessed far beyond most men.
In fact, this engraved model was the second Spyderco Ed Schempp Kris I have received as a gift within the past several weeks. The gifter of the first Kris wished to remain anonymous, in their words: "You may mention the event but please keep my name out of the expression. I like a community that suffers spontaneous acts of generousity. Please consider the gift as a bonus of the culture of the forum."
Dear Friends, what a forum we have here!
I will say that I value that first Kris equally with the engraved one as a special gift from a very special individual. The gesture was incredibly kind and I feel quite privileged to receive it.
Mr. Schempp, your designs are exceptional - your Persian and Mini-Persian are functional works of art, and your Kris is certainly no exception. This fine blade has made it into my EDC rotation and is as often as not the piece I reach for when starting my day.
My sincerest thanks to both you and Spyderco for making this knife available to the ELU!

Mr. Schempp's designs are probably as close as I will ever come to a custom knife. They are awesome!

Pardon me if I don't join the pun fun... I just wanted to say that you are truly deserving of such a great gift, my good friend. Congratulations on the receipt of a great knife from the greatest company I can think of- I am sure you deserve it! The grind lines on that model are superb, and one that I simply must acquire and experience first hand soon.
Thanks for sharing your good fortune with us, and keep up the good work!

My dear Doctor,
A hearty Mazel Tov on a most beautiful and special knife.
And as curious as I might be about your secret mission, I have no doubt that the kindly Ms. Kristi would have your liver with fava beans, and perhaps a nice chianti. ;)
