Anyone know of any place within the local San Francisco Bay Area that'll sharpen a SpyderEdge serrated blade? I've talked to a local dealer of mine and they said they wouldn't do it. I've had my blade sharpened by Spyderco before, but now I'm just looking for a local alternative.

Best local option is a Sharpmaker 204.

That's the same rig I use for sharpenings in the shop. It's really the only system out there that does them fast and well. I just wish there was a way to polish them beyond what the white rods do; sort of a honing steel for serrations, if you will. I'd like to be able to duplicate that almost mirror polish they have from the factory.

Its all fun and games til somebody loses an eye, then its fun annd games you can't see.

Ack! I gotta quit posting stuff so late at night...I should have added that this is the rig we use to do serrations. For most plain edge knives, we use a belt sander to put the edge back on, and then hone on either the 204 or a Crock Sticks rig. I finish on a steel for a finished, polished edge. Hope that makes a little more sense.
