I know this will probably cause a small stir but I should say in advance that I have not been taking on new work for some time now. (Well just on the larger stuff like these kind of rebuilds. I still do the smaller jobs like clips and stuff.) This is an old job I committed to a while back among others I still have to do. I'll add this tid bit of info for you also for you guys unfamilar with the inner workings of a knife. Spyderco really pulled off somewhat of a minor miracle of sorts with this knife. The tolerances are very very extreme on it. In fact its almost worth buying just for the tight close fit and engineering behind this knife to pull it off. Its that cool. Being able to make a knife with a back spring easy to open one handed is a minor miracle of an achievement all by itself but thats not the only thing that sets this knife up on a pedestal IMO.

Honestly I'm surprised I pulled this rebuild off at all especially on the first attempt. I thought for sure going into this one that it would need a side rebuilt or even a start over at least once to get it right but its a done deal. It will go home tomorrow to hopefully see lots of pocket time from it's proud owner. All it needs now is a a red cross on it and it would be among good company in fine slip joints.

This one sports titanium liners now with red linen Micarta scales and the closest thing to a wire clip I could come up with. I'd have loved to reuse the original clip as it was pretty cool in it's own right but my skills have limits I guess so this one has to do.

Thanks for looking.

That look good, could you put Carbon Fiber on a Persian?

STR

I'd contact DannyV (Member here and on BF) about that Persian. He does a great job with that material and could get to it sooner than I could I think.

As always STR beautiful job. The UKPK begs to be moded, with those three big screws in the handle most handle material will look great.
I see a lot of your mods are in Mycarta. Is that what your customers usuallty want?

Thanks again. I hope to hear that this UKPK arrived home today and from the final judge, Chris that it meets with his ok. If the Post Office did their part it should get there sometime today if we are lucky.

I have not even handled a Spyderco Karambit my friend. I have currently put a halt to all upgrade type mods so that I can pursue some other projects like those I have going on right now in the way of collaborations with some custom fixed blade makers as well as my own hand made stuff I've been way behind on. I'm still doing the pocket clip, Wave, sharpening and other smaller jobs though because those are easy to fit in between other jobs but the bigger ones like these complete upgrades I am not taking on right now so I doubt I'll be handling a Karabit anytime soon.

I do appreciate all the comments though.

Steve,
The pictures look great. Can't wait to see what the color looks like in person. I am at work so I won't know till tonight if the mail lady had it with her :D
Plus I have to take the house jacks out of my cellar tonight and I may not have time for more pics. I'll let you as soon as I get it.
