Dudes - Mine was a jaw-dropping moment unwrapping my Lum Tanto sent to me from a spyderdude in Australia - After clearing customs, its the spydermoment of my life!

Errr.. any thoughts to share fellow spydernuts?

Mine is a little mundane, but here goes:

A guy who isn't into knives asks for my opinion about a small pocket knife. I suggest a Dragonfly - he agrees and gets a serrated version. Anyway, after only a few hours, he drops it point first into asphalt, chips the tip, a couple of teeth and dings the zytel. It was the drop from hell... start moment: he asks me to "sharpen" it. Up to the challenge, but promising nothing, I take the injured insect home. After about an hour of filing, shaping, reprofiling, buffing and sharpening, I resurrect the thing! I did a great job (patting myself on the back). Blade is now unique, looks NIB and my pal's happy. Just good to know that I can do it, if the need arises. That's my SpyderMoment.

Samo our Bob Lums must be special cause they came from Downunder.
However, my spydie moment will be when my Matriarch arrives.

Mine was the first time I got to handle one. Slickest thing I ever had my hands on. Love & lust at first sight.

Had to be when I finally found the right way to hold my Shabaria - an "AHA!" moment for sure!

Every time I flip out my beat up Harpy from the carpenter's rule pocket of my bibs (it's slung low, making a dandy holster).

I moved to a fairly urban area (Champaign, IL) from out in the sticks, and it seems everyone up here is fascinated that I carry a "weapon" at all times. Those are their words, not mine; when I worked back home, if you didn't have a knife to cut the rope when a horse got skittish, someone was gonna get hurt...

I work at a Sears; someone asks if I can open a box, and I have my knife out and the tape split before they finish their sentence. The particularly "urbanized" ones will actually take a few steps back... ;-)

I love Spyderco's, as you can tell by my signature! But I think the moment that "HOOKED" me was when I flipped open that Civilian! It was the most awesome knife I had ever seen! That is why I am so excited about the prospect of a Carbon Fiber Civilian to add to my collection!

Another of those moments - was when I picked up my brand new "merlin", it felt like being on cloud-nine
