Just got my D4 Wave this afternoon, *GREAT* knife, the implementation of the Emerson Wave is excellent, but what really caught me off guard was how cool the "gray" scales look, i *was* planning on putting the Trainer scales on the Wave, and i did try mounting one scale on it, but it didn't look as nice as i thought it would, actually looked a little cheesy, not sure if it's the shape of the Waved blade, or something else, but it didn't look "right" to me
so i'm keeping the gray scales on , they look more bluish-gray than gray anyway
i tend to move my knives around a lot as i use them, right now i have my Harpy in the RF pocket and the D4W in my LF, as the wave seems to like the LF pocket of my jeans better than the RF, it tends to snag in the RF pocket
i will use the D4 in both front pockets, so rather than constantly switching the clip from one side to the other, i simply removed the clip from the Trainer and installed it on the other side of the D4W, now i have a clip on each side
i've discovered another benefit of dual clips, it makes the handle a little thicker and easier to grip, and the depression in the clip gives me a positive gripping surface to grab onto as i withdraw it from the pocket, i can also easily switch the knife between pockets while still retaining full Wave functionality
if you've got a spare D4/E4 clip, give it a try, ambi-clipped Waves are quite useful
