Have not heard much about these...

Got mine today, as a 5th wedding anniversary gift from my wife. I would drag out the old Co-Pilot I have, however that would have delayed these... So here is the "newer" version...

Enjoy.

quite cool knife actually Mark. never paid much attention to it, it seems now i've been too obsessed with the almighty Dragonfly when it comes to the smaller knives. :)

PS. do i see a tip-down clip on a G10-handle?!

PS. CoPilotATS55, your PM-box is full. trying to sent you stuff, but it bounces.

I don't think you see G-10 handles, otherwise you have to visit your optician.

It's the C09BK CoPilot Black Almite SprintRun ;) :D

nah, it's my monitor playing tricks one me. it's an old make-do crappy 15" compaq monitor, with a max. setting of 800x600 on my voodoo3-card, and the whole screen is so blurry and poor it actually increases one's eye-sight ;)

last year my previous monitor, which was a reasonably decent fujitsu 17", started to make strange noises, started smelling like burnt electronics, started smoking and in the end actually caught fire ( ). i unplugged it and threw it in the basement :)

The Co-Pilot was my second ever Spyderco. It has more rounded softer lines than the Dragonfly or Navigator. I had to have one myself for sentimental reasons.

Even though this is a Sprint Run, and I ought to put it up, I will carry it. It was a gift from my wife and it will make me think of her when I carry it.

Oh, she made out much better with a $420 Coach purse! (but that was a combo Anniversary/Christmas gift).

Just carried this tonight... I forgot how small, yet "big" feeling the Co-Pilot is.

I've only ever seen the Co-Pilot in all silver (may have been silver Almite or SS) but for some reason it's much more attractive in black. I would very much consider picking one up if it wasn't Almite. I'm not a big fan of it as a handle material. Much prefer G-10, SS, or even FRN.

The originals were stainless steel, I have one (and yes, it was fully serrated :D )

They may have made an Almite at one time in sliver, I have no memory of that one.

Who knows, there may come a day when this knife comes in handy. I can see a day when you MIGHT be able to take very small knives on planes again (yea, we can wish). Serrated blades were dicey before 9/11 if I remember. Sometimes they considered them off limits (depends on when and where). However, a sub-2 inch knife, in a useful package like this might just be the ticket if it is every allowed again.

If not, it is something you can show your grandkids, about the days when you could take a knife when you traveled...

Nice photos,

I think it looks like a great little knife. Not too happy about it taking sooooooooo long to get our numbered collector pieces however.

Do the variant collectors get sprint runs too? I don't know, I am a main piece guy.

Since I like carrying my Blue Almite Walker so much (loose in pocket of slacks) while at work.....love its super light weight and its scratch resistant properties...is the main reason it didn't take long for me to pull the trigger on this Almite CoPilot.....where the hell is that brown truck?:p

Congratulations Mark. Nice Pics.

I got one as well for sentimental reasons. My 1st ever :spyder: was a copilot. From time to time I still carry as a money clip.

Jai - Thanks for the feedback on the Almite scales. This will be my 1st knife with Almite, and I was wondering how it will hold up in the pocket.

Enjoy Mark

I got mine a couple weeks back. Very slick, sharp, thin, light little knife. I love the black almite.

I really don't understand the clip mounting though. One of the things that I liked about the original CoPilot was how low it sat in the pocket. These new clips stick about 3/4 inch of knife up in the air.
