Question about Harpy.

The fact it's PE though means it's probably an older model. Not sure when those were disco'd though. Might be able to narrow it down out if you can tell us the blade steel, and if you've got the box, what the label has on it.

Prompt please in what to year this model was issued?That looks like the VG-10 PE one. If so, I believe it would have to have been made sometime after the Harpy was switched to VG-10, which would have been around 2002, since that is the first year's catalog where the Harpy's steel is listed as being VG-10. The PE version was only made for the Japanese market, and to the best of my knowledge the white box is still being used there, so the box does not help date it any closer than that. They do show up here occasionally, as private imports. Here's a shot of one, along with a much older (pre-'92) one.

Not sure if there are any PE ones with G-2, GIN-1, or ATS-55 steel markings.

It is the VG-10, plain edged version. I think the very first plain edged version was one of the older G-2 models. I have personally only seen the plain edged Harpys in VG-10 and G-2.
