There is a plain edged version, but you will have to go to Japan to get one. It is for their domestic market only.
Hey Sal, if you read this, there are plenty of people (me included) who would like a plain edged Ladybug. The Jester is nice, but I still prefer the styling of the Ladybug.

OK, so here is the scoop on the straight edge Ladybugs (tentoumushi in Japanese).
The shop I have been talking with is in Kobe, Japan. It’s called Ikariya (anchor store) and has been in business since the 50’s.
The shop owner has agreed to sell and ship these knives to the U.S. for $18.50 per knife plus $15.00 shipping and handling for up to 4 knives, so if you ordered 4, the cost would be $89.00 or $22.25 per knife. If you want more than 4, the shipping will go up. Unfortunately, if you want only one, the shipping is a bit prohibitive, but I can attest to the fact that shipping things from Japan is quite a lot more than shipping from the States to Japan. Same thing with calling, but now I’m rambling.
He can not accept a CC over the net, so it would have to be a money order only proposition. He told me that he has black, red, and green, but I’m pretty sure there are other colors available, unless they were discontinued. I thought I saw other colors, but they may have been with serrated edges or the ladybug 2. Sorry, I was in a hurry when initially checking.
The shop address is:
IKARIYA & ASSOCIATES,INC
4-1-1 Motomachido-ri Chuo-ku Kobe 650-0022 Japan
TEL:81-78-362-1112
FAX:81-78-362-1113
e-mail: ikariya@ikariya.com
web address: www.ikariya.com It’s 99.9% Japanese so if your computer isn’t set up to read it, you won’t see all the neat and cool little characters that are such a $#&* to memorize.
Thanks a lot for the footwork IanMUndertall, the effort is most appreciated.
Order is soon to be on it's way.
