I was handling a co-pilot about a month or so back, and have owned the delica for 2 yrs...

Co-pilot:
I find it to be a bit small for a good grip(with my long fingers). It's easy to open, and close, but I spent about 20 minutes before I gave up finding a good position for holding. It all depends on your hand...

Delica:
I got mine at 15, and love it. I was used to 3-4" knives(LOTS of camping) and own a pile of fixed blades... I've used it for everything from taking the liner out of a pop bottle, to hacking apart boxes at work... no problems yet. I had a concern a short while back with lock movement(during food prep at work... cutting board) and discovered it was normal. I haven't broken the tip on this yet, but many have.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

kraziekurtis,

I've had a serrated Co-Pilot since the late '80s and it has always been one of my favorites. I have carried it as a money clip while flying and no one gave it a look. Of course things have changed now, and it won't be flying again. After you play with it a while you won't have any problems opening, closing or holding it. If you use the pocket clip you might consider skateboard tape under the clip to make it more secure. I lost mine 3 times, but was able to backtrack and find it, before I heard of that little trick.

Never had a Rescue Jr.

I have an early Delica that was the EDC replacement for the Co-Pilot till I broke the plastic clip. The new metal clips are much better. It is a tough, honest knife that will serve you well.

IMO the old model delica is alot better knife even with the aus 8 steel, the handle seems to be made better.
Co pilot to small for my hands.
Like the rescue but I have no need for one.
