Hi Raven, that's a cool bike, thanks for the photos.
Does it have an aluminium chassis? And how do you change the speeds? I always thought racing bikes have that Shimano gear switcher (and disk brakes, but yours seems to have no brakes at all)...

Cool bike, Raven. I like the full face helmet, too.

I raced mountain bikes for a few years beginning in my early 20s and have lots of good memories (and some painful ones!) of those events. And the scars to prove it!:D

What are the pedals you are running on there?

Thanks for the Support and Kind Words Bros ;) .

dialex, The Frame/Chassis is 4130 Chromoly Tubing in the front and the rear has square tubing. Now as far as switching gears........this little beast is a "Single Speed". I use what's called a "Micro Drive",a Gearing of 36-13......Which means there is a 36 tooth sprocket on the front and a 13 tooth freewheel/sprocket on the rear. Now as far as brakes go.........I use what's called a "V-Brake" made by a company called "Tektro". A V-Brake is just like a caliper brake, just alot more responsive and more "Braking" Power. I know it's hard to see, but if you look real close and follow the brake cable to the rear of the bike, you'll see the brake. It's not real noticeable in the pix.......Sorry :o . Hope this helps some.

deeker, Bro..........."Painful Memories and Scars"........YES :D  !!! Ya Gotta Love Riding A Bike  . The Pedals I use are platform pedals. They're the "Azonic Extension" pedals with hex pins for traction. One Slip and Well...........YOUR SHINS WILL BE HAMBURGER . I've been experimenting with some ........."GULP" ...........Clipless Pedals. Let me tell ya this has been interesting. Talk About Being "Committed" To A Bike. It has it's advantages. Some Real Torquing Power down the front straight. Thats the good part. Blowing a Clip coming out of the gate, well the race is pretty much over at that point. Blowing a Clip over a jump..........Spells Disaster. I will add......using Clipless pedals does force a person to work on skill and Bike Control. Sorry, Long Winded Answer to a simple question  ..........Sorry :o .

Take Good Care Guys.

God Bless :)

nice bike. Love the helmet... not too flashy, but just enough, not to mention the spider web fits right in to the forum dontcha think?

I had a Mongoose Decade Pro when I was a youngster. Until it got stolen. That was one nice bike too... all chrome w/ white mag wheels(i changed them for spoke). Had all the neat stuff for tricks too, rotor(free spinning handlebars), pegs on front/back... I only had that bike for just over a year when it was stolen... lucky that punk didn't get caught!

Nice bike raven!! I used to do a fair amount of mountain bike riding. I still have a Schwinn Paramount mountain bike that just hangs on my garage wall. I really need to start riding again!!
I am wondering about your "micro drive" My bike also has micro drive and the component system is all Suntour. Is your stuff Suntour? I thought that they had gone out of business, but maybe not. The "V-Brakes" work very well! I also used the clipless pedals and I really liked them although I never did any racing. I can remember when I first started to ride, I used the the toe clips. I will never forget the first time I rode with them, on my way home I stopped to say hi to a neighbor. Forgetting to loosen the straps, I could not pull my feet out and fell flat, right in front of him. How very embarrassing:o !! I did really like the clipless pedals though.
I hope that you have an awesome season!!

Aloha raven,

Bro, very, very wicked machine there! Love the helmet also!;)

I swear...things are so different from back in my "BMX Daze"...:D Them pedals on your ride look like ya took a dremel to some KKT Lightning Pedals!!!:D Remember those? Your frame looks sorta like my old G10...but then again, if there is a triangle bracket near the gusset, then it reminds me of my old Redline.

Awesome...I always wondered what the guys on the track "never saw"!!!;)

God bless you bro, and keep Roostin'!!!

Thanks for the explanations. I figured it out there must be a brake somewhere, after all you're not Fred Flintstone to stop the bike with your foot  ;)

Wow... those guys sure are fast !!

I remember though that we used to have a track in the small village I grew up in.... but that was 25-30 years ago. That track is no more, and I cant remeber having seen anything that looks like "BMX" (I think it was called that) lately in Holland.
Maybe it still is there, I dont know. I guess people interests change though.

I do riding a bike, either on the road or through the forest. I am lucky to live near one of the biggest national parks in Holland (De Veluwe). Sweet mountainbike trails they have there !

Good luck in the races Raven ! And, outside of that too. :)

(

My guess is that you don't sit on the seat much in a race. If I were to sit on that seat for too long, I would probably have to have it surgically removed:D .
