the new plain edged harpy is coming out in the 2002 line up i belive, i was wondering whether it will be an identical copy to the SS serrated version (only minus the serrations) or will there be any refinements? this will be controversial but i think that the two huge drying vents on both sides should be done away with in faveour of plain SS like a delica or police, i'd also like some new holes for the clip so i can carry tip up or tip down, and i don't s'pose theres any chance of a better steel like CPM 440V? military style? oh and will there be a G-10 version?

Replace the slotted drying vents with a pattern of holes. IMO, it would be better looking and just as effective. Throw in a VG-10 blade and make the knife a little bigger and I'm in heaven.

If it's anything like the slot on my rescue (few years old now) it doubles for turning stubborn shackles on a sailboats rigging. Keep it!

ALAKAZAAM The Harpy will be available next year in a VG-10 blade. As far as I know it will still have the slots on both sides, but don't quote me on that.

PS matress yeah i figured that too, i've seen them b4 on another lock knife, and the harpy is meant to be a mariners knife for cutting rope quickly, thats why the serrations are perfect, if it was PE it wouldn't be as good for the official purpose, it'd still be available in the original SE version but i'd prefere it without the vents, i don't sail.
