Hi KrazieKurtis--

I've engraved thousands of knives. . .it's all very subjective as to where engraving should go and how it should be oriented. Everyone has their own preference.

On the harpy I usually put the artwork between the side cutout and the lanyard hole. Second most-often requested is on the blade. (Often, both spaces are used--a logo on the handle and name on the blade, for example) Something could be placed forward of the cutout in the handle, also.

Like I said, everyone has his/her own taste (or lack thereof. . .ha ha), so go with whatever seems best to you.

adios,
Vince

mr. V, tell us more about your services (e.g., photos, prices, contact info). There may be alot of fans here that want to transform their ss handled Spydie into something more personal and unique. Thanks

I engraved the spine of the handle on my tufram cricket back in june. just a simple &quot;Memento Mori&quot;(&quot;remember you muct die&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>...

I will be engraving the handle of the SS Dragonfly after x-mas. I don't have the latin in front of me, it's printed off and in my room... english is:
non-clip scale: greet death, for in death is life
clip scale: par palam e flamma fert spiritus(from fire comes life)

The calypso jr lt will be engravedd on the blade as soon as I can find someone who will do it. Just a double S(the PROPER version of the thing Hitler used, just can't recall the proper name right now), gracefully curved S's with the tips almost touching the sides. It's the Druid symbol for VICTORY.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Thanks for asking, Toothed--

Unfortunately, Spyderco isn't set up to do retail sales. So, just as the factory can't sell you a knife directly, we can't accept mailed-in or dropped-off knives for engraving. (Besides that, it'd swamp us!)

I mentioned in another thread that our Factory Outlet can arrange for engraving to be done, but that's only for knives purchased there &amp; engraved before delivery.

It IS a great feeling to have a one-of-a-kind Spydie, so I hope you can find someone who'll fulfill your creative needs!

Vince

I had a Native II and a dragonfly done by Brooks Burt.

Here is a link to his site with pics of several Spyderco's he has done:
