Cricket or Lava get my vote

I usually either have my Spin or ss/se cricket clipped on a few bills.

the lava looks pretty good but the cricket seems to have an odd shaped blade what is it like to cut with

It cuts very well the reverse s is a great blade style. With it you can grip and rip.

Been using a se cricket longer than my beloved 'fly. Go through boxes like nothing... plastic sheeting, rope, clampacks? eats em for breakfast. Just opened up a pop bottle last night for flowers in about 10 seconds flat, just made a quick slice, popped the tip in, and pulled around.

Use it enough and it feels like that missing claw (thanks to evolution :p )

What he said...;)

For in production Spydies, the Cricket probably makes the most sense for a money clip. A super thin package with a strong clip is the why.

Limit is about 10 bills with it though (got paid by a couple ppl today, had to refold my bills).

Generally I don't have much money to clip(thanks to Spyderco and a lot of different coins over here:(:D ).

However I would go for the Cricket. A very strong cutting tool for such a slim package:cool:

Another vote for the Cricket. The Lava is fine too, even the Dragonfly would do, but the Cricket has a slim profile and a sheeple friendly shape.

As a spyderco fan, I rarely have more than 10 bills at any one time anyway. :o :D

Lots of excellent candidates. Depends a good bit on what you want to spend.

Stainless Dragonfly would be the least expensive. Assuming you're in the States, "street price" would be around $40. The Spin and Cricket would work well, and are relatively inexpensive at around $50.

The new sprint run Almite CoPilot, the Lava, the Navigator II, Poliwog, and Viele II are the "midrange" choices, running between $60 and $95. The Viele II, along with the Kopa would be the most elegant choices. The Kopa is also the most expensive, but it does look very classy. Prices range from about $115 to $200, depending on the scale material.

The Carbon Fiber Cricket is far and above the best Money Clip Spyderco has come up with thus far. The Carbon Fiber made the Cricket much easier to handle for me. Plus it just looks cool

Annother idea if you're afraid to try the reverse S (don't be, it's amazing) would be the copilot. I just picked up an old used SE copilot about a month ago, and it's cutting abilities are far beyond what a little blade should be.

But I'd still vote for the cricket.

Can't go wrong with the ss cricket, but I like the almite Walker for a money clip also.

another vote for a SS Cricket (or Spin)....my SS dragonfly seems a little heavy for carrying it loose in pocket (unless its always jeans).....I'd say Cricket's my fave....lighter and thinner....;)

Between the spin and the ss cricket, I think the cricket has the better clip for money clip usage. The spin's clip is somwhat short and stout, I think you'd get more bills under the cricket's clip. The new etched ss dragonfly in the '07 catalog looks pretty good to me, as well.
