Recently I bought the spyderco "native" in total stainless and have really enjoyed carrying it daily. A friend on seeing the knife for the first time gave concern on the handle of steel being "slippery". I feel the extra metal feel with the thinner profile has its own uniqueness and is worth the trade off. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of stainless handles?

I've never had a problem with a slippery steel handle. In my experience, grip always wins out over material, so if you grip it well, SS is okay. If you have a poor grip, the handle could be coated in Superglue and you could lose it.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

You could probably get the scales grooved by one of the aftermarket customizers; at worst, it could be done by one of the guys that specializes in elegant engravings.

Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.

not a problem after 2 months with the SS Dragonfly. Most think they are slippery until they try to use them.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...
