Well I promised some pic's when it arrived so here they are. I just gotta say this thing is pretty darn cool! It took me a second to figure out how to hold it so the handle snaps back into your hand. I was trying to hold the handle and have the blade flip out but it's not supposed to work like that, so it took some reverse thinking before it sunk in.
I haven't had it for more than an hour yet, so when I get the bugger completely figured out I'll post a more in depth review. For now, suffice it to say I like it a lot and I think it took a lot of brain power and engineering to make this thing work. Thanks to Eric for this way cool design!

I thought they were having some issues with US Customs? Did that get resolved?

This one's been on my want list for months now. I hope they get the issues with customs worked out for it (and the balisongs) really soon.

hey Felly those are some sweet pics.....appreciate the Tease!;)
This may sound like a dumb question but ...while learning to use the Bifold, were there any "close calls" with spyderbites.....like when learning to dance with a balisong? :p

Felly,
Amazing design! Great pictures! Congrats!
I might be missing something... Is this Bifold a part of production run or is it one of the "special" knives?

Sweet knife Felly. How does it ride in the pocket? If you are taking picture requests, how bout a thickness shot open and closed:) . Great pics, and nice change of background scenery.

Funny you should mention that Brian. No close calls while getting acquainted with the opening technique, but when I was taking pic's outside today I set it on a branch and thought it was secure and just before the shot it fell off the branch toward the ground. Well I couldn't let it hit so I stuck my open palm out and it landed safely in my hand, but not before the blade grazed my skin. No bite, but I felt the nibble and I guess it could have been a lot worse.

I'm not sure what is going on with customs. I thought it was going to be a regular production knife and it just got held up like so many others that a lot of us are waiting for. :)

I believe it is in the thread about the Spyderfly's current situation... This is an imported knife, and I believe that US Customs was having an issue with it, and interpreting it as an "auto" making it illegal to import. Same thing has done in the Spyderfly.

just read said thread, and tazkristi's post -- no bifold!!! it's been discontinued?!?!!!
felly -- do you hear that? the bifold has been discontinued -- you'd better send it to me so that i can dispose of it properly...! :D

Man, I want one of those. :(
"Simple" solution if Customs is going to be a bunch of pantywaists about importation is to make them in the US. They'd be more expensive, but you could get one in S30v. :D

She did say that they anticipate being able to resolve the customs issues but it might take months for it to happen. Ah, the light at the end of the tunnel! ;) :D

Ooh! Lovely pics!
Curious to know though, is it possible to open it left-handed? I was of the opinion that if you hold the Bi-Fold out far enough from the palm of your hand, the handle will swing out just fine.

Very nice, thanks for sharing Felly:cool:
A real "Eric Original". Just look at the handle shape and compare it to the Dodo or Polliwog. Very ergonomic;)

I have tried to open it with my left hand and it will work but it ends up opening upside down.

Ouch! How does it do that? Just starts spinning once you press the trigger?

I should have mentioned that the only way to open it left handed and have the handle flip open in your hand is to hold it upside down. It's very awkward to say the least! :o

Hi Felly, congrats on your new fine... umm... knife, I suppose ;) The grind seems a little shallow to me, but otherwise it definitely is a conversation piece.Enjoy it and thanks for the great pics (as always) :)

So does this win the "most lefty unfriendly knife of the year" award?
So even if you're holding it with the tips of your left fingers, the handle's too long to avoid your palm? Ouch!

Congrats Felly!
I don't see a collectors club number on your picture, so I guess this Bifold is from regular production. Am I right?

IIRC, it was a proto (according to Felly's post that he later deleted, reason unknown).

I would say yes. :(

Yeah, the handle is too long and it ends up hitting my hand.
