How do you usually do this? Does it work out with shirt tucked in? Front, Back?

Everyway I try to carry IWB is uncomfortable.

I prefer front IWB carry (aka appendix carry), it's a carry over from when I was really into MBC (easy to get to from a variety of positions, discreet too). Carry mode is really personal, as it has to fit your body, lifestyle and clothes. IWB also works well for a lot of people when the knife is tucked just behind the hip (4 o clock position).

I often appendix carry like Wouter when wearing a suit. It is discrete and doesn't weigh down the pants at all. The knife is usually a small Persian.

The Lum Chinese and other flat knives are also good for this. Also works well with a Delica..

I have found a Millie to be a bit large for IWB and it isn't the thing people expect at a dressier occasion:eek: :D

IWB is my preferred method of carry. For me it works best to carry the knife behind the hip. If the belt buckle is 12 o'clock, I carry at 4 o'clock (right handed) or 8 o'clock (left handed). I will often, especially with larger folders, angle the knife so that it feels more comfortable rather than having the knife sit straight up and down. With the knife inside the pants, and the clip between the belt and pants I find it to be a very secure carry. I think it works best with knives around 4-4.5" handle and a handle that is pretty flat.

I carry IWB with shirt tucked in at work.

Appendix carry (at 1-2 o'clock) is not very comfortable for me, and on me I find that the knife is more visible in that position. But it is a good option if it works for you.

"Because before you know it you get four guys arguing about who gets to be Mr. Black!" :D ;)

IWB, about three thirty o'clock, forget it's there. No pocket damage no white outline on jeans pocket, etc.

I usually only go IWB when canoeing, usually right around 2 o clock.

I wish I had a quater for everytime I tried to carry either a handgun or a knife IWB. JNC - Just Not Comfortable. I got the love handle thing going that seems to get in the way of any type of IWB. I guess it is for you skinny guys and gals.

For confort, tilt the folder so it makes a 45º angle with the belt. If the handle is narrow (think Delica, Endura, Centofantes, Adventura), it should be pretty confortable.

The only time I carry IWB is when I am snorkling or swimming in the ocean. I clip my Tasman in my swim trunks at 3-4 o'clock. I find myself checking that it is still there all too frequently. It is secure, I'm just a bit neurotic that way:) .

Inside waist band

Depending on your build, it may or may not be comfortable...
