(preface: All this may have been thought of already by
the friendly geniuses at Spyderco).
Based on what little I've heard about how the
duckfoot will work, it seems that the sharpening
angle on the outside edges could be adjusted
but placing a shim under the middle "rocking point".
Perhaps the instructions could include information on
the exact thickness of shim needed to achieve specific
sharpening angles, like 10, 12, 15, 17 degrees.
My vestigial trigonometry skills are not quite up to the calculations.
Someone could even make a little stepped shim that
included each thickness.
