Hello everyone....
Like the title says, does any of you know anything about Landmark Forums Enterprises?
I know a lot of very close people who went through them. My wife just came back from there.... And all of them "came back" changed with a very positive attitude toward life, but I am still wondering about them.
I let my wife go because after a lot of researches on the web, I have found a lot of good things, and some bad, but never anything really incretating (A woman from france sued them because her husband asked for divorce after he attended a seminar from Landmark... Well, maybe he finally saw how they were not meant for each other!??!?!)...
Anyway... Of all the people I know who have attended their seminar, all have a very positive, constructive and wise way about problems of life....
Anyway, anyone wants to share.....?
It really is not free publicity (You know me) I am just wondering if there is any really bad stories...
Thank you
Simon

Dude if I was you I'd get your wife as far away as possible from that group, they'll suck your bank account dry and destroy your marriage. This is the remnants of EST from the 70's. My brother in law and in laws are members of the "forum", which takes your money and then throws out all this pseudo scientific gobbledeegook, about being authentic and crap like that. I have several friends who were forced to take this garbage by their job, it's subtle mind control and if anything a cult of greed as there's no end to it, in order to be "whole" you must keep taking more and more expensive classes. My brother in law made it his whole life and though unemployed ran up tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt taking classes only to be shunned by his "friends" the minute he was broke and unable to take more classes. Ask yourself, how does it help you when there is no end to the money. At first it seems innocuous, people helping people, but there is a very dark side to this. Take very special care man.

See the Rick Ross link below your post, I only have personal knowledge through my in laws and friends who have been required to attend these "forums" by their Landmark bosses. Considering the founder of EST was an ex Hubbardite....................

psimonl,
I have participated in the Landmark Forum and a number of other seminars offered by Landmark Education. Although it has been several years since I have particpated in a Landmark program, I continue to derive great value from Landmark in every area of life (work, marriage, friendship, being a parent, just being myself).
I can recommend the Forum without any reservation. Keep an open mind.

Welll.... She's back and let me tell you, I never would have suspected a single week end of mind twisting conversation could change a person soooo much. We had quite a few conversations and let me tell you, a lot went through her mind and she really feels better. It has been 4 days now and there is no sign of withdrawal, no need to rush back and no weird behavior or conversation....
I must admit, on the fourth day, everyone is invited to have a "taste" of what Landmark is all about. They are pretty open. But I must admit they INSIST a lot about you buying a course or seminar. The don't force you, but just repeat it a lot. If they feel you are hesitating, they will insist, but if you give a strong NO, they won't bother you.
Anyway. I decided to register to see what it really is. I read all the letterature. And there is a lot of warning about how hard it could be, how stressfull and emotional those seminars could be. But that you are alwayr free to leave. Just like two who were with Stephanie. You can leave wheneveer you want.
I know I sound like a junior representative, but I know 4 very close person who didn't kbow each other that went through these programs and they see life and the future just like me. And I want to go see for myself if I can't go any further into my moral and spiritual path.
Like I always stood by, I am not a believer, but I believe in myself....
Anyway, I am "scheduled" May 11-12-13 and 15. I'll let you know what happens....
And don't worry, if it's all BS, I will be more than glad to let you all know so...
I have no attachments....
Take care you all...

Simon,
Thanks for the great and open post. No attachments is a great approach to life. I look forward to hearing how your Landmark Forum goes.

My actual experience at the forum was positive. After with the seminars it got a bit cultish. Its a lot of pseudo psychology. If you want to know more PM me. I'm sure you'll get something good out of it. Just don't give them your friends names and numbers. One of my friends had to threaten to file a harassment suite to get them to stop calling them.

Bump up.... Trying to see what I wrote...
Well... me and Step' both made the Landmark seminar......
At first, we were both very High about it. We even bought the 2nd seminar (but got reimbursed because we needed the money to buy a house) and let me make a small resume of what we think about landmark a year after doing both a seminar and a forum (forum is 45 hours packed into 3 days.... a seminar is a 4 hours a week during ten weeks program)....
-Landmark is not full of BS
-It helps to see the important things of life
-They sometimes call a lot as long as you seem interested
-You can become dependent of them if you are week
-Their philosophy is logical...
-If you are intelligent but "miss" something, they don't give answers...
-It's not a religion, or a cult, it's a way of seeing things under a new light...
-Even if some can see Landmark as an "enlightening", it is not.
We just learned something different that adds to what we already knew....
And the fact that we did it together just helped us not being traumatized by it.
One real strong recommendation: Don't do it if you don't know someone close who did it...!!! It could marginalize you into a dangerous way...
Hope it cleared that up...
take care you all.....

This still just sketches me out. I definitely wouldn't want to partake, and if something actually CHANGED my wife... I would not be happy about that

Steven Hassan (an ex-moonie) runs a respected website regarding cults. If you follow cults at all, you've seen Hassan on CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etcetera, as a prominent cult expert. Here's his info page on Landmark Forum / LGAT / EST.
