G'day All
As a devotee of the Li'l Temperance I'm always on the lookout to expand my collection and I was lucky enough to find a place down here in Oz that had two of them for sale. I've had a couple of S30V Li'l T's for a while now (one as user, one as spare) but these two new ones are early 440V models. One even had 1992 dated on the label so they've been sitting around for a little while :D

Fred with all four of my Li'l Temp's. S30V's on the Left, 440V's on the right
Another advantage of getting these two new (old) Li'l Temps is that I've finally gotten my Yojimbo out of Fred's hand's (feelers?) cause now he want's to play with the Li'l Temps :p

I prefer the G-10 of the 440's. Although the blade of the S30V. Great score:cool: Lot of talk about my favorite folder from spyderco lately it seems;)

Hi Ferreter,
First of all my congrats to your Lil'Temperance quartet :)
I think '1992' on the label should have another meaning as the Lil' Temperance was produced from 2001 - 2004

He must have read the label incorrectly, that happens sometimes to people who drive on the wrong side of the road. :D

Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men carry Spyderco's?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the Spyderpop?
You better run, you better take cover.
Buying bread from a man in brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, do you speak-a my language?
He just smiled and gave me a Lil'Temperance.

Th232: I havn't had a chance to do a full pic of my Spydie collection but it numbers about 40 at the moment I think, I got them thru the mob in WA that I PM'd you about a while ago.
Peter1960: My bad :p , I didn't read the date carefully enough, it's 6/28/02 so I'm guessing that's 2002. When did they chage over from 440V to S30V though?
Zenhereatic: There are other reasons than that, like living in 'upside down land' and seeing the Kangaroos bounce around :D Just so long as Fred doesn't go chasing the Kangaroos with a Spyderco

Yep Aussie land is a strange place: everyone drives on the wrong side of the road, toilet bowls swirl the opposite direction, everyone's water heater is on their roof, and the beer tastes good. Toto we aren't in Kansas any longer.

Hey Ferreter,
It's great to see Aussies around the traps. Even with our ridiculously draconian knife laws there are still nuts that go about their daily business collecting for the sheer joy and insanity of it all.
I'm a fairly new one to this hobby, but have found it enjoyable thus far. If only we could get some Spyderfly's down under :P
Oh, BTW: everyone else here....don't forget the Aussie women :D :D some of the best in the world...combined with beer goggles makes them even better. Great wine, women and song down under.... for those that haven't been down to the big brown land down under (not to be confused with our cousins across the water of the Land of the Long White Cloud), come visit sometime you'll end up staying :)

New Zealand can be called the big brown land, but only if you're referring to the boiling mud they have :p
Anyone who does want to visit, I'll meet them at Sydney Airport with Fred, that's as long as I'm not hauled off to the nut house for standing at the airport with a giant soft toy spider under my arm  :D

Under your arm? That sound quite undigified. He should be riding on your back!
But seriously, I hope Fred will share those Lil'T's with you, he looks rather protective :p

You should see the wriggling that goes on when I do carry him around. You'd think he had 8 legs :p :D If he hung on my back he'd look like a backpack and they might want to look inside him, that could be awkward.
Perhaps he could sit on my head? Second thoughts, maybe not :o
I think Fred will hang onto my new Li'l Temp's for a while. At least until I get a new Spydie to tempt him with.

If you used him as a hat, he would be similar to those hats with the little balls that hang down to keep flies away...you guys have those down there I believe.

I hadn't thought of that, I suppose it would be an improvement on the older design due to the fact that Fred wouldn't just keep the flys away..... he'd actually catch and eat them  imagine seeing that when you're walking down the street :D
P.S The little balls that hang down on those hats are usually corks.

Yes it's a corker of an idea !!!! :D Great aussie ingenuity and resourcefulness, who would've thunk it..... corks hanging from hats, and all for the sole purpose of shooing flies away ! Crikey ! what'll they think of next, a rotating metal solar powered clothes dryer ?!

Hmm... don't spiders usually weave webs to catch flies? Might get a bit sticky there!

Fred has agreed not to spin any webs as his webs are thicker and harder than what a Spyderco knife can cut thru  :p
Due to this I occasionally see Fred skittering / charging thru the house after some flying bug which he thinks would be nice to eat, usually with at least one Spydie in his feelers..... :D

Fred has been browsing thru my Spyderco Catalogues and the PDF versions of the older ones that Ted has created and he is in the process of writing a 'wish list' (for 'wish list' read every Spydie that I currently don't have) that he wants me to acquire to broaden my collection :p :D
Fred with a Gunting would be more worrying that Fred with a Li'l Temp I think
