Is there a cure for Spydie-holics? I never saw or heard of Spyderco until the first week of October. I bought my first Spydie on Oct. 19, 2001, and as of today I own 17 different knives. Were can I go for to get help, I need the best treatment center available.

you dont really think that Sal would let anyone live that tried to develop a cure would you? He would immediatly form a death squad of spydie wielding fanatics to teach the guy a lesson. :->

"Is there a cure for Spydie-holics?"
Sure, just go to your doctor and get a shot of spydercillian!

Sharp1,
Man, you are sharp! Nice photos, kinda like my initial experiences with Spydies.
Ellylab, you are one fast SpydieMan! There is no cure... "Somebody" around here might try pushing into thinking that a SASE with his address and name on it, plus your Spydies inside the envelope, is the cure... believe me, my name goes much much better on that envelope... *winks at that Somebody*
Enjoy the Web!!!! You are caught!!!!

We have a special bug shaped pill that is in the develpmental stages that I'm trying to remember to take As Iam in the final stages of the disease.
Final stage symptoms are the need (I mean want) to own all variations of all the line up. I don't think I can be cured but it might not be to late for you. P.S. I am from Indiana and it runs deep if you are from the hoosier state.PPS daylight savings is a real big pain in ..... well you know.

Hi Ellylab - welcome aboard.
Sorry no cure

Welcome ellylab,
I too was recently caught in the spyderweb and ya know something? I just don't want to leave! It's way too much fun!
As Kahz said, I was approached by a certain "Somebody" with a supposed cure for this incurable disease. As I recall, it involved an envelope, some stamps, and that certain "Somebody's" address. (double-wink to Kahz and Sword & Shield)
You can give the bug shaped pills a try, but I've heard that they only increase your hunger for MORE spydies.
The only viable solution is to continue to nurture your collection of spydies and add to it whenever financially possible. Be warned though, you may encounter foaming at the mouth during your stretches between new knives. This is normal.
Wow, 17 knives in less than 30 days? Man, you've got it BAD!!
Sharp1, great pics as always!
Best wishes.
Hope for the best. Be prepared for the worst. You'll never be disappointed.

Hey! watch what you say about us Hoosiers. Just because I am getting a aluminum Civilian, and want the others dosn't mean that I have it worse, does it?
mschwoeb,
Oh, my Goodness! You have the worst kind!!!!

OH MAN CAN WE GET HIS MAN A DOCTOR?
You are so much in trouble wait until you get into my degee of addiction when more than one of the same model that has had different steels is "required" or that you want to get the two different types of plastic clips (wide Or original thin). Or maybe you like a particular model as I do and have 12 different rescue's.

spyderholic,
Ahem...
Woman, please, woman. Don't go around giving free sex changes, some people may be displeased with the results...
As for this Spydie addiction, it's progressive, let me tell you, and very much incurable...

There is nothing wrong with 17 Spyderco's. You don't need a "cure". You are fine.

<whispering> Tell you what, Kahz, Lsaulog, here's what we do. We get poor Ellylab the triple cure! One envelope, three names, split the knives 3 ways. I'll even throw in a Ladybug to make it 18! Work for you??
<clears throat> Ahem, so as I was saying, there is no real cure for the Spyder-addiction, unless you'll go over there and wait a second. I'll bring the cure straight over!
By the way, welcome to Spyderland, Ellylab!

I like your thinking Sword and Shield!
We'll split it three ways, Kahz will take us both out in a game of Spydie Poker, and she'll walk away with everything! NICE!
Geez, I needed that good laugh to end my day at work. You guys are the best!

Hey Ellylab,
Isn't this just nuts! I bought my first spyderco during the last week of October. I now own 7 of these babies. My last one was a Terzuola PE Starmate. I'm looking for a full sized Calypso right now. Where does it stop?!
LOL You folks on this forum have been a tremendous help. Thanks!

Ok,
a 12pk of beer, (Coors, maybe? Hey, wait a second, they too are in Golden, CO! ) Kahz has a kewl hand, Sword & Shield slowly reaches to pick up the ladybug, and...
"Hope for the best. Be prepared for the worst. You'll never be disappointed."
Lsaulog,
I prefer Guiness, if not available, a dark beer will do for now...
What's that knife doing sticking out of your sleeve????

SpyderPoker gives new meaning to "shaving cards." You can always play SpyderKnock War, as well. Same as Egyptian War except instead of tapping the deck to get back in, first one to stab a Spydie of their choice through the pile gets it.
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

*Turning to the table*
Sword & Shield,
Hmmm...choice of any Spydie, stab it all the way through the deck, hey wait a second!!
ANY Spydie can do that! Let me guess, you wanna go first!? Ha! I knew you were up to know good...Kahz, pass me your "Q",...Kahz?....Kahz?!....Sacre Bleu! She is gone!! And so are all the Spydies!! Duped again!...And look, she took the beer too!
*Ahem*
So, about those 17 knives...less than thirty days, huh?

ellylab, the doctor will see you now.
"So far we have been unable to arrest the progression of the disease, the best we can do is to slow it down. The treatment is not covered by your health insurance as it is only in the experimental stage.
You must first buy a "Mouse". You will be so pleased and fasinated with it that your craving for other Spydies will subside. In some cases the urge to aquire more Spydies has remained dormant for upwards of two weeks. That is the best treatment we have at this time." (NOTE: In six percent of patients treated the urge to aquire other Spydercos was replaced with the urge to purchase more than one "Mouse"!)
WARNING: Side effects may include twitching thumbs, euphoria, loss of sleep, internet browsing, and forum membership.
