Sometime yesterday the 7 americans, australians, and germans that were being held hostage were freed from the building the taliban was keeping them and were brought to a safe area by U.S. special forces and anti taliban soldiers from within afghanistan. Hopefully they will all be home for the start of the holidays.

Like many, I've held the gravest fears for their safety since the conflict began. The news of their rescue really brightened up an otherwise dismal weak (anyone who follows Australian politics will get my drift <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>).

The rescue of the hostages by the rebels from the Taliban was a ray of sun light in these perilous times.

The prayers of many have been answered.

Between keeping the terrorists on the run and going after their money, we will enjoy some peace here at home.

Ultimately, the price of freedom is paid in blood. In the long run, I think it's cheaper.
