View Full Version : How about a waved Military?

I like my waved Emerson's and Spyderco's. I find the waved Endura to be one of the most reliable waved knives I own (my waved Rescue is maybe even better). However, often times, I like a little more high end hardware in my pocket. Some G-10 or carbon fiber...

So, anyone else want a Waved Military? Could be done no problem I think...

I know I would want one.

One problem, tip up carry. To use the wave the knife has to be carried tip up, the Military is only produced tip down, and only right hand at that. To do a tip up carry version would mean changing the design of the liners in the handle and probably making it weigh more, reducing the oft touted benefits of the Military being a very light knife for it’s size. But I agree, yes, a waved Military would be awesome.

I imagine if you really want one, STR could set one up for you. He's licensed by Emerson to do the wave, and has changed clips around on quite a few Spyderco models.

To answer your original question, no, I would not have the least bit of interest in one.

Myself no interest in a Wave Mil. , but Deacon is right with the tip to contact STR . He converted a CF S30V to left hand tip up and his work was flawless . Sounds like a project you may need to take on . Regards MG2

MarkG, that would be a fine addition on the Military. I just happen to like the wave feature!:D Give STR a call, his work and service is excellent!:D

i've seen some pictures of STR's waved milis, and they're certainly great-looking knives... especially with his titanium low-rider clips...

It was late when I started this thread, and the clip (tip down) issue did not even come to mind... :o
