Hola Forumites!

The big Leonids show starts @ around 3 a.m. on November 18th in this area. I am packing up some stuff for the adventure, Spydies included just in case, there will be cheese and bread in that basket and those serrations come in handy. Do remember to carry a corkscrew for that wine bottle and stay safe in the dark.

Enjoy the meteor shower!

Good Evening Kahz,

Thanks for the heads-up on the Leonids...I had it on my calendar but forgot all about it.

I've been outside for a couple of hours but have only seen a handful of "falling stars". Geez, my eyes are fried...I hope you enjoy the late night sights and snacks!!

If you are anything like me, I am SURE you could remove a corkscrew with a Spydie! I *Never* leave home without a Spydie in my pocket. It's kinda like leaving the house naked or something....Gosh, how would I explain that one to the neighbors?

Lsaulog,

Yes, I agree, then again, I have opened wine bottles with spoons before... don't ask.

I got to see a few of those Leonids in the sky yesterday (today) morn. Then it got very foggy to even see ahead on the road. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful thing to experience. I had never seen "shooting stars" (meteors) that bright before. Breathtaking! I did make a lot of Spydie wishes.

And, my Spydies were with me!

Hi Kahz, have you seen the sci-fi movie, "The Day of the Trifids"?

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed watching the meteor shower. Keep your Spydies close at hand just in case those Trifids start appearing.

Kahz, the reference to the movie is an inside joke. I believe ruxton has the right spelling of "triffid" and knows about the joke since he saw the movie. The movie appears from time-to-time on late night so you might want to watch it some time or you may be able to rent the video.

toothed,

Yeah, a guy I knew told me about that movie and he kept going on and on about it (???), so it stuck to my mind. I've never seen it in any video rental, so I have not had the chance to watch it, yet. It seems to be another one of those cult movies.

Holy shooting stars, Batman!

The Leonids were fantastic!

I saw the first one at 11:30 PM EST, and my wife stopped counting after thirty.

This was the best and brightest show I've ever seen. I've had the pleasure of watching the Perseod meteor showers, on a clear August night, at 9000 feet outside of Estes Park. While that was wonderful, the Leonids were even better!

While I didn't see your "heads up" in time, your notice reminded me as to how fortunate I was to see this once in a life time show!

One way or the other, you pay for your tools!
