Are these guys in generally available yet? I've wanted to get one but don't see them sold a lot of places.
Also... anyone contemplated putting a Worker style edge (even a false one) on the tip of the T-Mag? Would be pretty nifty I think as the T-Mag (in my eyes) looks almost just like the Worker.
Yep, the T-mag is readily available. Several websites have them in stock (including NewGraham) and I have seen a bunch on Ebay.

Readily available at your favorite pharmacy.... ;)
I'd say sales have been sluggish.... NGK's had 1 in stock for a long time...
I'm carrying mine today... :)
Got mine a few weeks ago from New Graham and have been carrying it since. I was a little hesitant about the non-locking blade, but for what I'm doing (mainly cutting boxes open and some light cutting), it works great. And this thing opens FAST.
The overall package is fantastic. Nicely beveled carbon fibre, smooth feeling in the pocket, low-rider clip, nice weight where you need it. This one has been one of my favorites, not to mention one of the sharpest blades Spyderco has delivered to me in some time.
I'd recommend it, if only for the build quality, but you have to get by the fact that it is, essentially, a slip-joint and you have to be somewhat careful with it. I also love the "Rare Earth" on the blade. Nice touch.
All in all, a great piece for me.

The price tag on the T-Mag (no pun intended) is such that it won't be a model that jumps off the shelf. However, IMHO it's got the nicest carbon fiber scales I've seen to this point. The CF Caly III has a real hard and smooth finish to the CF. The T-Mag feels a tad softer, with just a slight bit of texture... but nowhere near peel-ply CF (which reminds me of the drab, fabric interior in a Dodge Caravan.)
It's hard to describe but akin to the subtle differences between Seki City G-10and Golden made G-10.... same but different.
The "lock" (and how easily, and almost scarily it opens) is definately hard to get used to. I tightened up the pivot, and now it's much more comfortable to carry and use. Nice piece, and now in my rotation.

I'm curious now. If one were to "flick" it open, would the "lock" be enough to stop the blade from ricocheting back and trying to close?
Joe,
Absolutely. I open this thing like an auto, fast and hard, and it stays no problem. I've never been worried about that and haven't had need to thus far.
