Howdy Veers,
Welcome aboard the Spyderco Forums! Some of the popular Spydies are ambidextrous... e.g. : Endura, Delica.. You can convert the clips from left to right.. Liner locked folders are usually made for righties unless if there are limited runs for lefties.. Hope this helps..

Veers, I've been left handed for 56 yrs. and have found that we have to adapt
more often than not. As far as knives go I've found that being left handed is
a blessing because I don't have that darn clip digging into my palm when I use
my spyderco's. I've also found that if the knife has a hole in the blade or a dual
thumb stud I can use that knife with ease. So I guess in a backhand way Leftys
have a bigger chioce that right handers do. Besides lefty's know how to use BOTH
hands better :>

Left handed for 29 yrs.
The lightweight Calypso Jr. work very well if you switch the clip to other side. As well as the plastic clip rescue's (all time favorite left front pocket)

Thank you for all of the replies. They were helpful. I have had to adapt to using right handed knives all my life. The strange thing is, I can us both my hand almost equally well. My left and has slightly more dexterity and my right hand has slightly more strength. So I've always wanted a knife decated to only the left hand. Thanks.

I also find the Meerkat to be pretty ambidextrous, in fact I find it easier to release the lock lefty than righty. (although I may be alone in that)
Another bisexual...err I mean ambidexual model is the Q with its totally flexible clip arrangement and symmetrical handle and lock release (although not near MBC rated)

dude, left or right, you can't go wrong with the roundhole when it comes to one-handed opening...

Here is something strange.
I am right handed with a knife but can use it with left.Left with a riffle.Right or left with pistol but carry left bacause my left eye is[domanent?].I wright with left on paper and right on chalk board.and so on.
I've heard this called something but can't remember what and there is only like 1 in every 20000 people like this.A Freak I Guess.

Jeff,
I have never come across someone screwy as myself.
Example: I shoot a rifle with the stock against my left sholder, but I use my right eye!
A shotgun... A moving target...
Left sholder, left eye...
A pistol... any combo of hand and eye
I don't think about it I just shoot.
(and I'm pretty good too)
Pencil, fork, knife... usually left
Chalk, mouse, archery... usually right
My father is completely ambidextrous. Maybe it's herditary?
For most things I have a preference, but I can use either hand equally well. Make a righty use their left hand an it looks like they have cerebal plasy.
I don't call these mortals lefthanded or righthanded. I call them ONE handed!
Jeff, perhaps one day we will unite and rule the world!

Just about all Spydies are lefty / righty opening, the only exception I have found is the Howard Viele (it can be done, but it is difficult).
Because I was interduced to liner locks first I favoured them for a long time. But now I am turning more to the lock-backs, mainly for their ambidextrous closing, something which is difficult and dangerous with a liner lock.

It's gotta be something with knives... or it's just the water...
Archery, rifles, pool[billiards(sp?)]... leftie
golf, hockey... right
writing... right
darts... left
and I carry r/l combos...
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...
