This is a curiosity question more than anything else, but I was wondering if the Spyderco knives with "Seki-City, Japan", marked blades are also assembled in Seki? For example, was my Spyderco Stretch assembled in Seki-City? Do they ever ship Seki blades back to Golden and do the assembly there? I guess I just don't know very much able Spyderco's facilities in Seki, but I do know that they turn out some of the most incredible blades there. Any insights would be much appreciated.

as far as I've seen, the last country to touch the knife (complete it) has their stamp on the blades. Almost all countries do this, so I would assume (yes, I know the rammifications of such actions =) Spyderco would as well.

Simple specific answer is that your Stretch was made completely in Seki, as are any other current production knives stamped Seki-City, Japan. In the past, there have been a couple models that were made partially in one place and finished in another, but, as has been pointed out already, those carried the marking of the last place to work on them.
