This is just a crazy thought, but I know that I for one would be very interested in having, along with the search options in the catalog for blade steel, handle material, and function; having a search option for blade grind. Or, if nothing else, maybe something in the knife specs that lists the blade grind so that it's easy to see.
Just a thought. Would anyone else like to see this, if possible?

Since it's one of the criteria by which some people choose their knives, it makes sense to include it as searchable like any other feature or characteristic; so I voted "yes".

I'm a big fan of the endangered species named hollowgrindis spyderedgeus:rolleyes: , so yes blade grind in the specs would be nice:) .

I don't see any reason why not, but I have to ask, do people actually search by JUST the grind?
To me, the grind is pretty far down the list, behind ambidexterity, ergonomics, blade steel, and size, and by that point, if I HAVEN'T found a picture(which shows the grind), I'm not doing a good job researching.
But like I said, I don't see any reason why not.

I'm with smc, need of a specific grind will not likley be the sole reason for purchase, but would like to see it stated, because I cant always tell from the pics.

Right now it is listed in the description of most, if not all, of the knives, but it's kinda hard to find without purposely really reading the description. So, I think that at the very least, an easier way to quickly tell what the blade grind is would be kinda nice.
Forinstance, I had ben looking for a small, sheeple-friendly knife to carry to more "refined" occasions, and had been set on the Navigator II, but then decided against it in favor of the Dragonfly, since I just happened to notice amidst the description, the words "Flat-Ground"; and I would rather have flat-ground than saber-ground in a small, low-use knife.

I figure, if someone is actually considering purchasing a given knife, they will be reading the complete description in the catalog. Perhaps even reading it several times. That said, it probably would not hurt to list it, along with blade length, weight, and hole size, in the "spec sheet", especially since Spyderco has now consolidated all the specs on one page. On the other hand I don't think there is any real need to make it a seachable critera.
The only thing not already searchable that I think should be, is blade length. There are probably more than a few people who would like to see all the knives under a given blade length due to legal carry restrictions where they live.

That's a good idea, Deacon. I hadn't thought of a blade length search due to the fact that I am extremely fortunate to live in a state with no legal carry restrictions.
