Krazie,
Thanks, you have a sharp eye. Ah! A fellow SpyderMan is bidding... I guess I have to wish him luck. *waves to Lsaulog*

Lsaulog,
Congrats on winning! Patogordo, do you buy your knives at a particular store in Laredo or by Internet?

well Kahz every where internet pages, the want to buy in bladeforums, ebay, prive sellers, the gun shop in laredo only has 1 spyde the Q with the american flag, so no laredo I use laredo only to pick them up
Patogordo,
Ok, thanks, I was just wondering. El Paso, TX (closest border town to the city of Chihuahua) used to have a very good knife store at a mall, but they closed down a couple of years back, and I haven't found any store as good as that one since then.
I went to a couple of gun and knife shows in San Angelo, TX (I lived there for 2 years), and they had a great selection of everything. Texas is a good State to buy weapons, plus, Texans are very friendly folk.

Hello all,
I finally finished doing some painting around the house and figured I'd check the Forum to see what's goin' on.
Yes, the Pink Cricket saga has come to an end. The waiting is finally over. Yippee!
The final bid was a bit high for that little pink cricket, but, if you wanted something bad enough, you would do whatever it took to get it, right? That would be me, right down to the wire. I was NOT about to lose this little pink critter to anyone else bidding.
And so, as I am about to send payment, I will relish in this moment for awhile. A successful auction win. Satisfaction...it's a beautiful thing.
On pins and needles, Sharp1? More like nails in a coffin!
This particular pink Cricket has found a happy home, as a gift. I'll be forwarding it to it's new owner, of course, after I take a brief moment to see what all the fuss is about. *winks across the room, then starts whistling Dixie*
I see J Smith has also caught pink cricket fever. Seems like it's contagious! First Kahz, then me, now J Smith. When will it end?
Anyway, I hope everyone else looking for a pink cricket is successful in their hunt! Now, if I could just find my sanity.....oh, there it is. Huh, go figure, I left it next to my Spydie!

Khaz, laredo lives basically from de mexican, and generally dont like knives or guns so even the gun shop it´s really small and no specialized knife shop

Sharp1,
Well, if you think about it, the exchange rates go like this:
1.5 Canadian Dollars = 1 American Dollar
9.2 Mexican Pesos = 1 American Dollar
I think the improvement I am making is clear. Imagine that, my Mouse cost over 950 pesos!
No, no Ladybug, and the Mouse, well, I like it gray, although that pink looks interesting. I'd rather see it in blue-gray, though. Can you do that.
This disease is spreading faster than I thought it would... where is this world headed to?
Kahz
Sharp1, and that velcro closure trenchcoat with SpyderPockets... great idea! LOL! I am assuming, of course, that underneath the trenchcoat I will be wearing my usual jeans and sweater, and my black combat boots.
Hey, that would be a cool job.

Say hello to my little friend.
Sharp1,
I don't think that one country is better than another on _absolute_ terms, they all have their pros and cons. I think this planet is an interesting place to live in all in all. Once I get to travel to other planets, I will give you my opinion on that.
Exchange rates are definitely not going to hinder me from moving around, they never had. It may sound scary to pay more (especially by multiplying everything American by 9.2), but you get used to it.
That colour is just what I had in mind. A Mouse in that tone would be VERY eye-catching. Almost gunmetal... hmmm...
Thanks for the sales rep idea, I will be polishing my resume soon! Yay!
Eclipse, oh, nice Cricket!

Sharp1, LOL! You are full of ideas.
Yes, I agree about that jeweled Cricket... Where can I get that work done on one of my knives?

Hi Kahz,
I hope you are doing well.
You may want to checkout bladeart.com. They may be able to customize your existing knife.
"Hope for the best. Be prepared for the worst. You'll never be disappointed."
I picked up a great Travel Vest from REI. It has tons of pockets to carry knives. In my vest I usuall have:
2 checkbooks, wallet, cel phone, Handspring Platinum PDA, Surefire E1, Parker 75 fountian pen and pencil, Several Spyderco's with pockets left over for more stuff.
Lsaulog,
Congrats on winning the pink cricket.
I was your opponent on e-bay (fred6666) but your limit was too high for me.
I hope you enjoy your knife.

Hi Ted,
Thanks for the congrats. I really didn't want to lose out on such a unique knife. I wondered if anyone else on the Forum had bid on the same knife. It's nice to know that we can all bid against each other in friendly competition!

Hey Kahz. Did you ever find that pink Cricket?
sal
Sal and everyone,
Well, the family is growing... I got a pink insect today...
Can you tell that they already get along quite well?
Mouse in left pocket, Cricket in right pocket... ah, the pleasure of carrying a mammal and an insect and being able to show them off, priceless... For everything else, there's MasterCard.

Folks,
Regarding the U.S exchange rate and it's effect upon knife prices...I'm not sure it's going to hurt Kahz too much...
Out here in Western Canada; I often seem to pay about the same in Canadian dollars for a Spyderco knife as I've heard you folks do in U.S dollars, considering the exchange.
For instance, my Wegner Jr. cost me $148 Canadian dollars recently, which works out to about $93 U.S dollars. This doesn't seem excessive to me.
Jeff/1911.
Jeff,
You are completely right. That's the example I made of how much I paid for the Mouse (which just sounds like a lot). Exchange rates are just that, it does not mean one _necessarily_ pays more. As a matter of fact, many things on absolute terms in IL are cheaper than in Mexico (Gasoline, many canned foods, good quality clothes, etc.).
Thanks for clearing this out. I am excited about my future move to your land. And no, not scared of winter, Toronto seems to very similar to Chicago and this is the 3rd winter I've spent here, plus, certain parts of Northern Mexico (very close to where I was born) are also very cold and can get down to -25 Celsius (approx. -13 Farenheit), many people are not aware of this. I love cold winters!
