View Full Version : A Question for the Aussies
I was on my lunch break, and started thinking about Christmas. This is completely off subject, but I wanna know. First off, does Australia recognize Santa Claus? And...if you do, how do you picture him? It seems odd to me that Santa would be wearing his red winter coat, with his tiny reindeer, when it is the middle of summer down there. Please respond if you can guys, the curiousity is killin me. Thanx in advace.
Hi Ryan,
We still follow a lot of nothern hemisphere Christmas traditions that don't make a whole lot of sense if looked at rationally :-)
Including the big, fat, jolly man, sweating profusely in his red suit, large boots and beard - just like your Santa.
I've spent a White Christmas in the US a few years back - and I'd have to say I prefer ours - warm, lazy days - watching the Melbourne Test Cricket match.

What is even more ridiculous, my family sits down to a traditional Christmas dinner. Turkey, ham, plum pudding with brandy sauce etc. Imagine stuffing all that down when the temperature's about 100 degrees .

Thanx guys. I can now die a happy man!

It is kinda funny. Big fat man dressed for extreme cold bouncing in a sled from rough to roof in that heat. I would imagine that large and typ of meal is rather out of place also.
